CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) Overall January is a nice month for you – that is, if you can weather the first week and half of the month. Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th and between the 5^th and 9^th the Sun catches up to Pluto in its square to Uranus.   Meanwhile Venus in Sag squares Neptune for those same days. Oh jeez- you won’t know which way is up. You’ll be yearning for happiness and completion while being walloped by the Uranus-Pluto storms. Is it time for revolution or for surrender? Here’s the thing: with Mercury going retrograde in top of this mess, you should definitely not make any big decisions. Just sit tight!!!   Watch what comes up in you in reaction to all the changes in your mood, in other people, and in your life. The Venus-Saturn conjunction from the 9^th to the 12^th has you ready to throw in the towel in a major relationship. In fact, the Capricorn new moon on the 9^th has a very exact conjunction of Venus and Saturn.   You would do well to take time that day to sit with yourself and examine what commitment and boundaries really look like. By the end of the month, if you use Mercury retrograde well, you’ll know what to do.   Keep in mind that Jupiter and the North Lunar Node are your friends this month, so relationships are in flux but you are being held in a nice web of relatedness, especially during the week of the 17^th. From the13th through the 16^th the Sun in your sign is conjunct Mercury retrograde in Capricorn. You’ll be intuitive and perceptive but make sure you’ve backed up your hard drive!   The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th and we have a few days of Mercury retro making angles to Uranus and Pluto. Between those aspects and the full moon on the 23^rd   be prepared for bad weather, so you may want to be judicious about any traveling….Venus enters your own sign on the 23^rd – that’s always good for being clear about your values.  Mercury turns around on the 25^th!

AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) January has some challenges at the start but settles down mid-month. You’ll be fine if you can roll with Mercury retrograde! It turns retrograde on the 5^th, right after it enters Aquarius, so the first few days of the retrograde have Mercury in your own sign. I personally find that challenging – you may just want to take a big nap for a few days until Mercury moves back into Capricorn on the 8^th! During those same days the Venus-Neptune square will make you very dreamy indeed. By the 10^th Venus catches up to Saturn in Sag and you will be looking for commitments and structure in your life. Keep in mind that Jupiter and the North Lunar Node in Virgo provide a juicy backdrop to the month in terms of relationships and all-around positive connections with people. You might need that because Mercury retro and the Sun pair up for a few days on the 13^th which could lead to miscommunication and misunderstandings. But by the 17^th Venus in Sag squares the Jupiter-Node   business, which is really nice for relationships. Enjoy! The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th, and your brain will be firing madly on all cylinders with Mercury squaring Uranus and conjunct Pluto. There is a full moon in Leo on the 23^rd which should help bring your wild and crazy ideas to fruition.   Then mercury straightens out on the 25^th.

PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) You can be relieved that the Saturn-Neptune bogginess of November and December have passed out of phase—yay! But you do have Mercury retrograde to contend with from the 5^th to the 25^th.   You know the drill – it’s major dreamtime, your intuition is strong and your grip on details leaves something to be desired…. Overall the month of January has sweet relationship aspects, with Jupiter in Virgo conjunct the North Lunar Node. You just have to ride out some bumpiness at thestart of the month, between Mercury retrograde and the Sun in Capricorn catching up to Uranus and Pluto for a few days between the 6^th and the 9^th.   That will make for some tension! The Venus-Neptune square happening at the same time can leave you vulnerable to disappointment, but Venus is quite fast and it catches up to Saturn by the new moon on the 9^th.   Use the Venus-Saturn conjunction to craft some clear boundaries and commitments.   From the 13^th to 16^th the Mercury retrograde dynamics are especially strong, so be sure to back up your hard drive…! By the 17^th Venus catches up to Jupiter and the North Node and there is a delightful few days on the relational front.   There is a Leo full moon on the 23^rd, followed by Mercury turning round on the 25^th: weather, travel plans, and life in general should get messy for a few days. 

ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) January brings delightful relationship dynamics your way, since Jupiter is paired with the North Lunar Node in Virgo for the entire month. You just have to deal with some chunky aspects at the start of the month . Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th, Venus squares Neptune, and the Sun reaches Pluto and squares Uranus form the 6^th to the 9^th. Oy! What a mess!   The potential for misunderstandings and subsequent disappointment is quite great! By the time fo the new moon on the 9^th, Venus will have moved away from Neptune and smack into Saturn. Use this lunation to dig deep into intimacy and reformulate commitments. Mercury retrograde catches up to the Sun for a few days around the 13^th so use this time to harness your intuition – remember that Mercury retrograde is downtime for the rational mind. By the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-North Node business which is wonderful for relationships and connections. The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th and a few days later there is a full moon in Leo, accompanied by Mercury retrograde catching up to Pluto and squaring Uranus. Your mind will be on fire and you may find yourself unable to hold back your thoughts and words. Expect big weather with this full moon, and remember that Mercury turns around on the 25^th….

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) Well, I got some good news and some less -than -good news…. The good news is that the boggy Saturn and Neptune combination has moved out, and that we have a month of Jupiter conjunct the North Node in Virgo, a beautiful relationship aspect. More good news: Venus, your ruling planet, sees a lot of action this month. The aggravating news is that Mercury goes retrograde on January 5^th ,which I know your earthy self can find supremely annoying but keep in mind it can be delightfully intuitive. And the other aggravation is some chunky aspects at the start of the month – as if Mercury turning around weren’t enough! Venus squares Neptune for a few days, creating the potential for disappointment resulting from Sun-Uranus-Pluto drama.   But it’s all good – by the new moon on the 9^th Venus in Sag catches up to Saturn, and you will be able to set clear boundaries and renegotiate commitments.   Mercury retrograde reaches the Sun from the 13 to 16^th, which will bring some important revelations your way but be sure to keep track of your electronics.   By the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-Node business, which is great for connections, intimacy and relationships. Enjoy! The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th, and meanwhile Mercury retrograde is conjunct Pluto and squares Uranus. Your head will explode with ideas and you will bring some visionary work to fruition that week with help from the Leo full moon on the 23^rd . Then Mercury turns around on the 25^th. Get ready for delays, bad traffic and messy travel while Mercury sorts itself out.

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) Well, this is an interesting month! The main event is a beautiful Jupiter conjunction to the North Lunar Node in Virgo all month, which makes for delightful connections and relationship action. However there is some chunky stuff to get through at the start of the month so you may not feel the good vibes at first…. Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th while Venus squares Neptune and the Sun catches up to Pluto and squares Uranus. Communication will be dicey and there will be drama, some emotional sloppiness and even some disappointment. But no worries — the new moon in Capricorn on the 9^th has exact Venus Saturn aspects which will helps you define boundaries and commitment. Mercury retrograde catches up the Sun for a few days on the 13^th, so those days will be very retrograde-ish: changeable and drifty. You have no choice but to go with the flow of your intuition and not worry about plans being made or unmade. By the 17^th Venus in Sag squares the Jupiter-Node business. Now that’s nice! Enjoy connections and intimacy. Your mind will be firing on all cylinders by the 20^th, when the Sun enters Aquarius and we head for the full moon in Leo on the 23^rd. You’ll be brimming with ideas and opinions. Mercury turns back around on the 25^th, always a challenging day. Keep an eye out for bad weather and bad traffic.

CANCER (JUNE 21- JUL 21) January brings us very different planetary energies! You can be grateful that the boggy influence of Saturn and Neptune has passed, and that 2016 rings in with a beautiful Jupiter –North Lunar Mode conjunction in Virgo.   This juicy combination is great for relationships and connections. But there are some chunky aspects to get through.   First, Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th, and this will be a big one for you since it spends much of the retrograde in your opposite sign of Capricorn. Remember to go with the flow and to use your non-linear intuitive perception. From the 6^th to the 9^th there are some confusing aspects: the Sun catches up to the Uranus-Pluto square, making for tension and high drama, while Venus squares Neptune. Sounds like some disillusionment might be in the picture, but by the Capricorn new moon on the 9^th Venus in Sag is conjunct Saturn.   You will clarify commitments and negotiate solid boundaries. Excellent. Mercury retrograde catches up to the Sun for a few days on the 13^th, really exaggerating the weirdness of Mercury retrograde. Get ready for unexpected information and really wonky communication. Make sure you’ve backed up your hard drive. By the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-North Node business, and that makes you feel held in a gorgeous fabric of relatedness! Nice—enjoy it!   The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th, followed by a Leo full moon on the 23^rd with dynamic Mercury aspects.   You’ll be bringing some ideas to fruition. LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) January is a fascinating month, with some contradictory influences. The main influence – and a positive one, for which we’re all grateful—is that all month Jupiter is conjunct the North Lunar Node in Virgo. This delightful combo is all about connections and relationships, and it serves as a nice backdrop to the month. You just have to get through some challenges at the start of January when there is a weird pile-up: Mercury turns retrograde in the first degree of your opposite sign Aquarius, Venus squares Neptune and the Sun in Capricorn catches up to the Uranus-Pluto square.   That’s a lot all at once!   High drama, miscommunication, even disappointment.   But by the new moon on the 9^th Venus in Sag reaches Saturn and allows you to structure your commitments and establish healthier boundaries. We get a few days of exaggerated Mercury retrograde when it is paired up with the Sun from the 13^th through 16^th. Get ready for things to go a bit haywire….But by the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-Node business and you have a really good time with friends and loved ones. The Sun enters your opposite sign of Aquarius on the 20^th, and there is a big old Leo full moon on the 23^rd. You’ll be a bit out of control with lots of wild and crazy ideas…. Mercury turns direct on the 25^th so at that point you may have an easier time juggling all your thoughts and plans….

VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21)  Well, you get a nice boon from the universe this month! Jupiter in Virgo sits with the North Lunar Node all month, making for happy connections and positive movement in relationships. Nice! This aspect will help you move through a few challenging days at the start of January, when there are some contradictory influences. The Sun in Capricorn catches up to the Uranus-Pluto square, creating lots of changes and drama, while Venus’ square to Neptune gives you uncharacteristically rosy glasses. You may be headed for a fall of sorts…. But by the Capricorn new moon on the 9^th Venus in Sag is conjunct Saturn and you are back to your grounded self. It’s a good time to make commitments and establish boundaries. Oh, and did I mention that Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th? This is your ruling planet and you prefer Mercury to be logical and orderly, and sorry, but this month it won’t be…. In fact, the retrograde-ness will be quite exaggerated from the 13^th to 16^th so get ready to have things not be the way you thought…. But by the 17^th Venus in Sag squares the Jupiter-North Node business and that will be very enjoyable for you in the relationship department… The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20^th, accompanied by interesting Mercury aspects that will have your brain firing on all of its cylinders. LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21)   January brings wonderful relationship aspects, thanks to Jupiter and the North Lunar Node being conjunct in Virgo. Remember this when the going gets rough, which it might at the start of the month when we have a pile up of Mercury retrograde (yes indeed!), Sun-Uranus-Pluto (high drama), and a Venus Neptune square (confusion and yearning). Oy!   What a weird line up, but at least it’s fleeting. By the Capricorn new moon on the 9^th Venus in Sag catches up to Saturn and you will return to your calm self, and you’ll be able to set workable boundaries and renegotiate commitments.   On the 13^th Mercury retrograde’s influence gets very exaggerated when it catches up to the Sun for a few days — remember to back up your hard drive and be prepared to be awash in Merc retro vagueness.   By the 17^th Venus in Sag squares the Jupiter-North Node thing, putting a big bow on that nice little present from the universe. You’ll feel held in a beautiful web of relatedness.   Then you get overstimulated mentally once Mercury contacts the Uranus-Pluto square, just in time for the Sun to enter Aquarius and the Leo full moon on the 23^rd. Chill out, honey. Mercury turns back around on the 25^th. Travel and weather will be a mess.

SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) January has its ups and downs but keep in mind that all month long we have a gorgeous Jupiter-North Node conjunction in Virgo. This means that no matter what else goes on, you are loved and feeling held in a beautiful web of relatedness. Nice! So remember this at the start of the month when things are slightly weird and we have a pileup of contradictory influences: Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th, the Sun catches up to the Uranus-Pluto square, and Venus squares Neptune.   What’s that mean? It means drama, confusion or disillusionment and perhaps some miscommunication thrown in. But it’s fleeting. Don’t worry, because by the Capricorn new moon on the 9^th, Venus is conjunct Saturn, giving you the ability to hold really firm boundaries and stand up for your own needs.   Then for a few days on the 13^th the Mercury retrograde influence is strong since Mercury catches up to the Sun. You’ve got to go with the flow and let your intuition do its thing. No big decisions until the end of the month! By the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-North Node combo , making it even sweeter in terms of friends and connections. Your nerves get a bit frayed around the 20^th, when the Sun enters Aquarius and the Mercury aspects are nuts. The full moon in Leo on the 23^rd makes all your crazy ideas come to the fore.   Mercury turns around on the 25^th, and the day it turns is always weird so expect some changes in schedule and travel plans.

SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) January is quite a month! The backdrop is a beautiful Jupiter-North Node conjunction in Virgo, which is just delightful for relationships and feeling connected to people. Remember this when the going gets rough, which it may at the start of the month. Mercury goes retrograde on the 5^th, initiating 3 weeks of non-linear intuitive process. But during the first week of January the Sun will be involved in the Uranus Pluto square and Venus will be squaring Neptune.   This is a contradictory pileup! High drama and confusion, perhaps some disappointment. But it’s fast, and by the new moon in Capricorn on the 9^th Venus in Sagittarius (yes!) meets up with Saturn in Sag. This is a very grounding aspect, helping you set boundaries and clarify commitments.   On the 13^th Mercury retrograde catches up to the Sun and so the retrograde influence is very strong for a few days—make sure you stay on top of your technology and back up your system! Just sayin’! By the 17^th Venus squares the Jupiter-Node business and that is especially delightful in the relationship department.   On the 20^th the Sun enters Aquarius while Mercury retro has you popping with ideas and inspiration. The Leo full moon on the 23^rd will make you rather uncontrollable in the Sagittarian idea and opinion and big mouth realm so watch it.   Mercury turns around on the 25^th and there may be delays and changes in your plans.
