 CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19)  Oh what a month it is!   Jupiter opposes Uranus all month, bringing an energy of expansiveness, innovation, and surprise. Just ride that wave! Mercury stays retrograde til the 8^th, when it reverses course in late Sagittarius, only to re-enter Capricorn on the 12^th. The 8^th also has a pretty Venus-North Node opposition, so enjoy connecting with loved ones. The first few days of January bring a dreamy Mars-Neptune conjunction, so go dancing or take in some art. The full moon in Cancer on the 12^th dumps a lot of planets on the earth axis, so it will be a big day for the world at large. And you know how emotionally overwrought a full moon in Cancer can be, so lay low on this one. Then the week of the 15^th Mars in Pisces catches up to Chiron and they both square Saturn. The Saturn-Chiron aspect will be with us on and off all year, and it is a powerful and transformative combination that gives the world an opportunity to recover from the rampaging Saturn in Sag bombast. You can expect some old patterns to be triggered the week of the 15^th, and you will have an entire year to work them out. The Sun moves into Aquarius on the 19^th and by the 25^th Venus in Pisces catches up to the Saturn-Chiron business. You will be looking at the obstacles you tend to trip over and over and over in relationships. Use the new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th to look at some of these issues. It’s a good lunation for some deep reflection, aided by a juicy Mercury-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn.

AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) A Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces leads off the month, making it an excellent time to kick back, relax, and enjoy dancing or skiing or some kind of physical movement. (Just remember that Mercury is still retrograde, so if you’ve made plans for New Years weekend, double check the time and place…!) The Sun in Capricorn catches up to Pluto on the 6^th for a few days of global intensity and Mercury turns back around in the middle of that on the 8^th. At the same time the Venus-North Node opposition just makes you want to cozy up on the couch with loved ones – human, canine, feline and even piscine (just kidding about the fish!). The 12^th brings a full moon in Cancer –- feelings always run high with this one – that falls on the earth axis along with Jupiter and Uranus. Stay on that couch. Speaking of Jupiter and Uranus, those two planets are in a tight opposition this month and for the next few months, bringing lots of surprise and expansiveness and keeping us all a bit off kilter. As an Aquarian whose ruling planet is Uranus, you may handle this better than the rest of us…Meanwhile the week of the 15^th Mars in Pisces catches up to Chiron’s square to Saturn. Now it gets interesting! Saturn and Chiron square each other for most of 2017, and we pray to all the gods and goddesses that these two instructive planets bring healing our way. Some issues you need to clean up will be triggered by Mars and then Venus the following week, but it’s all good. The Sun enters your sign on the 19^th and there is a delicious new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th. Have fun with that!

 PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) Oh what an interesting month January is… It starts off with a few days of a Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. You should have fun with this dreamy transit—it’s a good time to go dancing or take yourself to New Orleans for some very funky jazz. Remember that Mercury stays retrograde til the 8^th so you get to follow your gut and do some unexpected things. Around the 6^th the Sun in Capricorn catches up to Pluto for a few days of global weirdness, especially when Mercury goes direct. The Venus-North Node opposition brings a few days of nice intimacy at this same time. Then get ready for the full moon in Cancer on the 12^th, which always tends to be an emotional one. This time it falls on the earth axis along with Jupiter ad Uranus. Political developments may surprise us all. This Jupiter-Uranus opposition is actually in effect all month and into the spring. It brings a kind of untrammeled desire for new and different that can be great and can also be over the top. The week of January 15^th Mars in Pisces reaches Chiron’s square to Saturn, shining a light on 2017’s other big planetary combination. Saturn and Chiron create a wonderful soil for working on one’s crap, quite frankly, and Mars will make it clear what Saturnian pattern is tripping you up. The following week Venus in Pisces will help you figure out how to deal with it… The Sun enters Aquarius on the 19^th, and there is a nice new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th with exact Venus-Saturn aspects. Do some reflection about how your needs are being met, or not.

 ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) Mars and Neptune grace the beginning of the month with creative and expansive energies which are best expressed physically through dance and movement of some sort. Mercury is still retrograde and remains so until the 8^th, when it turns around while the Sun is conjunct Pluto. Hmm—that will be weird! Expect some revelations on the political front. Venus in Pisces opposes the North Node for a few days on the 6^th, putting you in touch with emotional yearnings for connection. There is a full moon in Cancer on the 12^th – always an emotional one – which falls on the earth axis along with Jupiter and Uranus. Expect the unexpected as far as world events go. But this Jupiter-Uranus opposition, in effect from December til March, makes for a great deal of unsettledness for us all. As an Aries, you are really feeling it since Uranus is in Aries and Jupiter is in Libra. This combination makes new and different very very attractive, to the degree that the baby may completely go out with the proverbial bathwater. It also brings surprises and opportunities. So get ready! Then the week of the 15^th the other major combination of the month (and year, in fact) gets triggered by Mars in Pisces when it catches up to the Saturn Chiron square. This square allows Chiron to have a healing effect on Saturn in Sag rigidity and dogma. Mars will help you run smack into some piece of dogma that you need to let go of… Then on the 19^th the Sun enters Aquarius, and Venus in Pisces reaches the Saturn Chiron business. Let the healing begin. Use the powerful new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th to get some clarity.

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) The month begins with Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces—get out there and enjoy the snow! Go for a run or forget the snow and go dancing! Remember that Mercury is still retrograde…. It turns around on the 8^th while the Sun in Capricorn is conjunct Pluto. Expect more political revelations about cyberhacking and the like… Speaking more personally, Capricorn, of course, is a fellow earth sign and you do well in this month of taking care of business and getting things done. And remember that the day Mercury turns around can be challenging in the technology and scheduling department. There is a big full moon in Cancer on the 12^th that dumps many planets on the earth axis. It will be a big day for the planet, and the Jupiter-Uranus opposition in effect this month will be in play, bringing surprising outcomes and an unfettered desire on many people’s part to satisfy their own individual agendas. Hmm, that’s nothing new, but it’s extreme this month. The Cancer full moon will make you very self-protective. Then things get very interesting the week of the 15^th when the other major planetary combination of the month (and year) gets triggered. Mars in Pisces transits the Saturn Chiron square, and this offers a check and balance of sorts to the Jupiter Uranus grandiosity. Saturn and Chiron offer an opportunity for healing, for looking at the costs of Sagittarian arrogance. Mars may throw an obstacle in your path but no worries, it is simply showing you what you need to deal with and heal. Then the Sun enters Aquarius on the 19^th and as Mars moves away from Saturn and Chiron, Venus moves towards them. Let your ruling planet Venus point the way towards a gentle commitment to undo some old patterns. The new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th highlights this Venus aspect, so use it.

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) January is an interesting month! It begins with a Mars-Neptune itch that you best express through dancing or some kind of movement art. We approach the end of Mercury retrograde on the 8^th and so the first week of the month is a bit weird, especially because the Sun and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn.   Lots of hidden agendas, and a feeling of pressure. It passes in a few days, and then we build towards the emotional full moon in Cancer on the 12^th. This lunation falls on the earth axis along with Mercury and Jupiter and Uranus. Oy veh! Expect some global instability. This Jupiter-Uranus opposition is a big deal and it is keeping you a bit agitated and off kilter. It makes you itchy for new and different and veering between trust in the universe and a despairing hyper-rationality.   About that meditation practice I mentioned last month….ahem. But then things get very interesting! Mars in Pisces catches up to the Saturn Chiron square, which is one of the most significant combinations of 2017. Saturn and Chiron create a pathway for healing for all of us – and because this occurs in mutable signs it’s very important for you. Mars will undoubtedly have you run headlong into some obstacle, a pattern that you really need to move past.   The Sun enters Aquarius on the 19^th and Venus replaces Mars in that lineup with Saturn and Chiron. Time to heal, honey. Use the powerful new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th to get some focus on that.

CANCER (JUNE 21- JUL 21) January starts off with a delicious Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. Hope you’re dancing, or listening to some absolutely music that transports you… Mercury is still retrograde, pulling you into that deep internal place. Use it – it turns back direct on the 8^th, in the midst of a few weird days of a Sun Pluto conjunction. Then we build towards the full moon in your own sign of Cancer on the 12^th. This is an important full moon – it falls right on the earth axis, along with Mercury and Jupiter and Uranus. Expect big doings on the world stage.   For you as a Cancer, expect Jupiter and Uranus to work their magic of enticing you to take an unexpected risk or seize an unexpected opportunity. Things get very interesting after the 15^th when the major planetary combination of the year, the Saturn-Chiron square, gets triggered by Mars in Pisces.   This square is about healing our blind spots of hubris and arrogance. You will walk smack into some old pattern that needs transforming. Let Mars take you there, and then let Venus pick you up and bandage your knee the week after. Meanwhile the Sun enters Aquarius on the 19^th, and it’s that week that Venus replaces Mars in the Saturn Chiron square. The powerful new moon in Aquarius on the 27^th really gives you the chance to work on these issues.

LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) January begins with a sweet Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. Get yourself to the dance floor! Ring in the New Year with some ridiculous behavior, since Saturn and Chiron might put a lid on that for the rest of the month, but I get ahead of myself… Mercury remains retrograde til the 8^th. It turns around while the Sun is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, undoubtedly bringing more political revelations. Energy builds toward the full moon in Cancer on the 12^th. This major full moon will also wreak a bit of havoc on the world stage, given that it dumps a number of planets on the earth axis, including Jupiter and Uranus, the planets of surprising outcomes. This Jupiter Uranus opposition is in place til mid March, and it keeps you and everyone else a bit off kilter, waiting for the other shoe to drop. ON a positive note, it makes you game for something new and different, willing to take risks. Things get very interesting after the 15^th, when the spotlight shines on the Saturn-Chiron square. First Mars in Pisces aspects this square, followed the week of the 19^th by Venus. Saturn and Chiron bring us an opportunity for healing, a chance to check our Saturn in Sag arrogance and humbly look at old patterns that need to change. Mars provokes you and a week later Venus offers some balm. Meanwhile the Sun enters Aquarius on the 19^th and on the 27^th there is a gorgeous new moon in your opposite sign of Aquarius. Use it to invite the healing in.

 VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21) January is Capricorn’s month, and since it is a fellow earth sign, you do well under this influence of taking care of business. This month begins, however, with a dreamy Piscean conjunction of Mars and Neptune. This is about delighting in creative energy, especially movement, so get out there and go dancing or skiing or surfing. Remember that Mercury is still retrograde and doesn’t turn around til the 8^th, a day of Sun Pluto weirdness so you may not accomplish what you thought. Emotions build toward the Cancer full moon on the 12^th, a big lunation for the world itself. Expect some global action since so many planets are on the earth axis on this full moon, including Jupiter and Uranus. This Jupiter-Uranus influence will be with us through mid-March, and oh, honey, it’s big. This combination keeps everyone off kilter for the next few months. It brings a rashness into play as well as an opportunity for surprising new things, so stay calm but stay open too. Meanwhile the month gets very interesting after the 15^th when the other big combination of the month gets triggered. Mars in Pisces catches up to the Saturn Chiron square, tripping you up with some old pattern or belief system you need to let go of. Saturn and Chiron bring an incredible opportunity for healing.   Mars may frustrate but then Venus steps in and offers some balm by the week of the 19^th.   Use the new moon in Aquarius on the 27th to explore where you need to grow and heal.

LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) Oh this is a big month for you, what with lots of action in cardinal signs. It begins with a dreamy Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, great for dancing or carousing or binge-watching silliness like “People of Earth.” ( You could, of course, go highbrow and have a Werner Herzog film festival – that would satisfy Mars and Neptune for sure…) Enjoy! But back to business…. Mercury stays retrograde until the 8^th – it turns around on the same day as the Sun Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Oh jeez, whatever that brings, people will be paranoid. Emotions build toward the full moon in Cancer on the 12^th, which will be a big one because it dumps so many planets on the earth axis. It will be a big day for the world, and hard to say what will happen because Jupiter and Uranus keep us guessing. Jupiter in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries for the next few months, and this combination is exciting and also destabilizing. Needless to say it is an important transit for you since Jupiter is in Libra.   There are many exciting possibilities and surprising outcomes created by these two planets, yet also a self-aggrandizing bluster. So stay open but stay aware. But no worries, because Saturn and Chiron come to the rescue. The Saturn Chiron square dominates the second half of the month, and this aspect is all about healing, about making everyone confront arrogance or hubris or judgement and giving us the tools to do so. Mars in Pisces sweeps in the week of the 15^th and catches up to Saturn and Chiron, causing you to stumble on your pride. Venus comes in the following week to offer some balm to your wounds. Your job is to lay low on this full moon – emotions will run high and the world will be eventful since the full moon lands a number of planets on the earth axis. Jupiter and Uranus continue their opposition this month, creating surprising opportunities for you with surprising outcomes. If there is freedom you want, you’re itchy to make a change. SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) Well. What a month! It starts with dreamy Mars and Neptune in Pisces, bringing you inspiration and transcendence. Get outside if you can, connect with nature and your body. Mercury retrograde sneaks into the back edge of Sag on the 4^th for a few days before it turns direct on the 8^th. You will be a space cadet! The Sun catches up to Pluto in Capricorn for a few days on the 6^th and Mercury will reveal some things that have been repressed, personally or politically. Emotions build towards the full moon in Cancer on the 12^th, which brings big doings on the world stage since the full moon dumps more than a few planets on the earth axis, including Jupiter and Uranus. These two planets are in an opposition til mid March, and yes, Jupiter is your ruler. They bring surprise and opportunity and also a tension between rationality and mysticism.   Hmm, watch your Sagittarian fiery opinionated self. Meanwhile, the second half of the month highlights the effect of the Saturn Chiron square. This is a powerful healing influence, forcing you to grapple with some shadow part of Sagittarian-ness. You may have to let go of a way of thinking or belief system, or simply let go of arrogance.
