CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) January is actually a pretty great month, if you can stomach the intensity of the world and the global drama that abounds…. All of you Capricorns are graced with Venus and Mercury marching in tandem for much of the month. That’s about enjoying connections and interactions. The first five days or so of January also bring a Mars-Jupiter opposition, which makes for having a good time in general. If your birthday is in this first week of January, these aspects are in
place for you for the year! But – and there is always a but– there is a very potent full moon in Cancer on the 4th which involves the chunky and explosive Uranus-Pluto-Saturn combinations as well as the North Lunar Node. Feeling a bit tense? Having some stresses with loved ones? Feelings will be running especially high with this full moon and there will be an opportunity for breakthrough and transformation in some major relationships of yours. Then in the middle of the month Mars enters Pisces and immediately squares Saturn, giving you several days of nose-to-the –grindstone work and some sensations of being hemmed in and stressed. It passes quickly, because the following week, the week of the 18th, Mars progresses and catches up to Neptune. Everything that you organized under Mars and Saturn may change and morph and slip through your fingers. It’s a great combo for creative expression — get out there on the dance floor – and healing work. Remember that the Mars energy gets big and sloppy with Neptune’s influence, and so your impact on others will be bigger than you realize. Venus opposes Jupiter at the same time so you’ll be having fun doing whatever you’re doing…. Oh! Did I mention the New Moon in Aquarius on the 20th followed by Mercury going retrograde on the 21st? First of all, if you’re traveling, expect bad weather or really spectacular travel problems, between the new moon and Mercury… Mercury will be retrograde til February 11th, and you know the drill: it’s dreamtime for the linear mind. Go with the flow, pay attention to your gut. Linear process won’t be very linear. The end of the month has Saturn creeping into a relatively close square to Neptune, not the easiest combination unless you’re seriously engaging in a creative or spiritual practice. It’s time to sign up for T’ai Chi.
AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) Well, the planets are smiling on you this month, giving you the kind of aspects an Aquarian likes — intellectual/political stimulation and lots of interchange and fun. In fact, Mercury and Venus spend a good chunk of the month moving in tandem, making for lots of satisfying exchange of ideas. January starts off with Mars in Aquarius opposing Jupiter – that’s a fun combination. The world of course continues to be in wrenching spasms of liberation and repression, and
you are challenged to make sense of it all. There is a major full moon on the 4th that focuses transformative energy into relationships and your sense of home and security. Feelings are running high and you may be more sensitive than usual, but it’s a great full moon for shifting some trouble spots in relationships. Then mid month it’s time to get really focused about work, and a Saturn Mars square helps you do that – but not for long! Mars quickly moves away from Saturn and catches up to Neptune. Things you thought were settled and organized may not be, and you’ll have to go with the flow. Between Mars and Neptune and Venus opposing Jupiter the week of the 18th you’ll be distracted by having a good time with friends and loved ones. This is big excessive energy – enjoy! Then the Sun enters your own sign on the 20th and immediately in almost the same moment there is a new moon in Aquarius. This is an important lunation for you – use it to harness all your fabulous Aquarian vision and focus. Mercury in Aquarius goes retrograde the next day, on the 21st and moves backwards through Aquarius til February 11. Mercury retrograde in your own sign can be especially confounding. You have to really go with the flow and not force anything. Saturn gets awfully close to a square to Neptune at the end of the month so you will have to utilize some discipline lest you turn into a couch –potato-ish blob. Make sure you stick to a physical regimen!
PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) Oh baby! This is an intense month for you – not all of it is hard but it has some spectacular challenges. First, there is lots of family drama right off the bat – a major Cancer full moon on January 4th which captures all of the Uranus-Pluto-Saturn craziness and mashes it up with the North Lunar Node. Everyone’s shadow side is up up up, clearly visible in the moon’s strange light. At the same time the Mars Jupiter opposition and Venus Mars conjunction makes everyone speak their truth – all of the time and loudly and without much filtering. It’s wearing but there is an opportunity for tremendous
growth through crisis as well as unexpected relationship breakthroughs. Venus and Mercury move in tandem til the 20th, which is wonderful for communication. Mars enters your sign of Pisces on the 12th and immediately squares Saturn for a few days. This makes for very hard focused work, and if you are an early Pisces, make sure you don’t overdo it at the gym or on the ski slopes. Then the following week, Mars catches up to Neptune in Pisces, which is a loopy, dreamy energy, great for creative expression. At the same time Venus opposes Jupiter, so you’ll be having fun being a space shot. Then the Sun moves into Aquarius on the 20th followed instantly by a new moon, and then on the 21st, Mercury goes retrograde til February 11th. If you are traveling the 20-21st, expect major weather or travel problems. Just sayin! But otherwise this Mercury retrograde period is rich with intuitive insight. Venus enters your sign on the 27th, engaging both Saturn and Neptune. Hit the studio.
ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) This is an interesting month, personally and globally. The Uranus-Pluto business continues to dominate the sky and the emotional/political tenor, especially at the start of the month during the build up to the January 4th full moon in Cancer. Of course, this full moon is very personal too since it highlights issues of emotional security and home for
you. You are likely to be thin-skinned, and there could be big relationship drama. But here’s the nice part this month: Mercury and Venus move in tandem for 2/3 of January, which is wonderful for communication and interchange. Mars and Jupiter are in opposition at the start of the month, adding to the sense of enjoyment and conviviality. Mid month Mars enters Pisces and squares Saturn, giving you a week of hard work and pressure. It quickly gives way to Mars catching up to Neptune, which changes the energy entirely. You’ll have no choice but to operate from your intuition, especially with the new moon on the 20th and Mercury turning retrograde on the 21st. Yes, Mercury retrograde. It’s dreamtime til February 11th — linear process won’t get you very far. At the end of the month Venus enters Pisces and pulls in influences of both Saturn and Neptune, really forcing you to work your creative juices.
TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) Hmm. Life gets complicated – what can I say? The first few days of January are stimulating and fun but full and busy in ways you don’t expect. There is a whopping full moon in Cancer on the 4th with the explosive trifecta of Uranus, Pluto and Saturn. Whether the fireworks are global or local, they are fireworks nonetheless, and the Cancerian energy places the spotlight on issues of home and security. Yet January brings some really nice aspects—namely, Venus and Mercury
march in tandem for a good three weeks, which is a wonderful combination for communication and exchange of ideas. On the 12th Mars enters Pisces and immediately squares Saturn for a few days of very hard work and focus. This quickly shifts, however. The week of the 18th brings a strong Mars- Neptune influence, so the energy goes slightly sideways and things you thought were nailed down turn out not to be…The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th and instantly there is a new moon, and then Mercury goes retrograde on the 21st. If you thought you were traveling the 20-21st, I would think again. Between the new moon and Mercury retro, there could be snafus. With Mercury retrograding in Aquarius, it will present particular challenges around misunderstandings and miscommunication. Get ready! Then the end of the month brings Venus entering Pisces and engaging both Saturn and Neptune. This is a good time for creative work.
GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) This is an interesting month, starting off with very nice aspects for fun and interesting exchanges. In fact, Venus and Mercury move in tandem for most of the month, which is great for communication. The Cancer full moon on the 4th is a big one, because it has the Uranus-Pluto-Saturn business all over it. Oy! And as if that weren’t enough, the full moon falls right on the North Lunar Node . I would expect family drama or relationship drama, that’s for sure. Then on
the 12th, Mars enters Pisces and immediately squares Saturn, giving you a few days of feeling really stuck. It passes quickly though, and the next week Mars catches up to Neptune in Pisces. Meanwhile Venus opposes Jupiter. My recommendation is to indulge in some Mars-Neptune excess and fully enjoy it. Hurl yourself out there onto that dance floor! The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th and instantly there is a new moon, followed by Mercury going retrograde on the 21st. Mercury retrogrades in Aquarius until February 11th. Enjoy the dreamtime and don’t make any big decisions. Venus enters Pisces on the 27th and squares Saturn and catches up to Neptune. Time to flex those creative muscles…
CANCER (JUNE 21- JUL 21) Oh honey. The month starts off with a lot of intensity in the build -up to the January 4th full moon in Cancer. This full moon is huge for you. It occurs with the Trifecta of Trouble –Saturn Pluto and Uranus — plus the North Lunar Node. It is all about crisis in relationships, and for you especially, about issues of home and security. So put on your seatbelt – you are in the midst of some turbulence. The good news is that Venus and Mercury are marching forward in tandem
for most of the month, which is great for communication and interchange. Whatever you are going through, you are not going through it alone, and it helps to talk and/or write about it. Then on the 12th Mars enters Pisces and squares Saturn, giving you a good few days of very focused hard work. Everything changes the following week, however, when Mars catches up to Neptune and Venus opposes Jupiter. It is a good time to throw caution to the wind and have a really good, indulgent time. The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th and there is a new moon moments later – more reason to hang out and be convivial. Mercury goes retrograde on the 21st for three weeks — remember that during Mercury retrograde things may not go as planned. Go with the flow and let your intuition and dreams guide you. The end of the month brings great planetary combinations for creative work.
LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) The month starts out with some pretty aspects for you – Mars in Aquarius opposes Jupiter while Mercury and Venus march together in tandem. You’re having fun and exchanging ideas with people. The idea exchange
continues for 2/3 of the month so you can expect some positive and satisfying communication. Meanwhile the world continues to undergo spasms of revolution and repression and that tension really builds up towards the January 4th full moon, which also highlights some transitions in relationships. On January 12th, Mars enters Pisces and squares Saturn – that’s an opportunity for really hard work or focus on details. The following week throws everything up in the air, and you will have to go with the flow. Plans will fall apart but you’ll be having a good time. The Sun enters your opposite sign on the 20th, followed immediately by a new moon. Use this new moon to cultivate your intuition. On the 21st Mercury in Aquarius goes retrograde for 3 weeks. This may be a challenging stretch for you because nothing may happen the way you expected. On the other hand, things that have been stuck in unclarity and indecision may begin to move. You just have to follow the energy. The end of the month brings positive aspects for creative and/or healing work.
VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21) Well, this month has some great aspects and some challenges for you… First, Venus and Mercury spend most of the month moving forward arm-in-arm as it were, which is really nice for communication and interchange. That influence, plus the Mars –Jupiter opposition at the start makes the beginning of January very enjoyable. As we approach the Cancer full moon on the 4th life gets more tense and relationships more pressured. This full moon is all about relationships and
issues of home and security. The trifecta of Saturn Uranus and Pluto are all over this full moon, as is the North Lunar Node. Growth through crisis is what it is about….. Then on January 12th Mars enters your opposite sign of Pisces and immediately squares Saturn. You get a week of hard work and focus and perhaps of feeling pressed and hemmed in. Then it all shifts – Mars catches up to Neptune and Venus opposes Jupiter . Ooh la la! Have fun with these aspects – let loose, somehow, somewhere. Then the Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th, moments before the new moon, and on the 21st Mercury goes retrograde. First of all, if you’re traveling then, expect weather-related or other delays: the combination of the new moon and Merc retrograde is likely to be messy.….As for Mercury retrograde, you know what to do, to go with the flow, use your intuition, and allow information to reveal itself… At the end of the month Venus enters Pisces and aspects Saturn and Neptune. It’s a great time for creative expression.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) Well, this month has some pretty combinations and some stressful ones as well….The good news is that Mercury and Venus spend most of the month marching forward in tandem, so January starts off with that delightful influence of positive interchange and communication. The good times are enhanced by a nice Mars-Jupiter opposition. But tension builds for you as we get closer to the whoppingly emotional full moon in Cancer on the 4th. Oy! This full moon lines up
with Saturn, Uranus and Pluto– the trifecta of trouble– as well as with the North Lunar Node. This is a big firestorm of crisis and transformation in intimacy (and it will hit you directly if your birthday is around October 6th or 7th. ) But then Mars enters Pisces on the 12th and squares Saturn for a few days of intensely focused work. Take advantage of it because the following week all discipline will elude you and you will just want to hang out and have a good time, once Mars catches up to Neptune and Venus opposes Jupiter the week of the 18th. The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20thm the same day as a beautiful new moon. Then on the 21st Mercury goes retrograde in Aquarius for a few weeks. You will have to roll with things and not stress about what is supposed to happen when…. Pay attention to your dreams and let your intuition guide you. The end of the month brings great combinations for creative expression when Venus enters Pisces on the 27th.
SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) The month starts off with positive aspects for fun and hanging out around your kitchen table, shooting the breeze with friends and loved ones. That is the case at least until tension hits around the January 4th full moon, which it will, inevitably. This is a major full moon involving Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto– what I like to call the Trifecta of
Trouble– as well as the North Lunar Node. So after a few days of conviviality, tension hits in the form of family drama, probably brought to you by a Cancer or Capricorn….. It is a transformative full moon and there will be some unexpected breakthroughs in relationship, so it’s all good…or at least necessary! Then Mars enters Pisces on the 12th and squares Saturn for a few days of hard work. Take advantage of it because the following week Mars catches up to Neptune and you won’t get a thing done. Have a party; go dancing; do something fun. On the 20th the Sun enters Aquarius just moments before the new moon. That’s a nice one for visioning. Then on the 21st Mercury goes retrograde in Aquarius – don’t panic, it’s only til February 11th. Enjoy the dreamtime and follow your intuition. The end of the month brings interesting Venus-Saturn Neptune combinations that will reignite some romance and stimulate creative expression.
SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) Interesting times, that’s for sure! The world continues to be stressful and Saturn has just entered Sagittarius for the first time in 28 years… If you are an early Sag, that means Saturn is on your Sun, emphasizing the huge responsibility you feel rests on your prodigious shoulders. The good thing this month is a very pretty conjunction of Venus and Mercury for most of the month—nice for engaging with people and exchanging ideas. And, at the start of the month, Mars opposes Jupiter for a few days, adding to the New Year’s frivolity. Expect tension to build leading to the full moon in Cancer on
the 4th. It is a big one personally and globally, as it falls on the same axis as the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto business. The world is explosive and people are explosive too. Expect some transformative crises in the intimacy department. Then Mars enters Pisces on the 12th and immediately squares Saturn. Ugh. Really hard work. Take advantage of it because the following week you won’t get a thing done once Mars catches up to Neptune. At least you’ll have fun not doing your work! The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th, moments before a nice new moon. Mercury in Aquarius goes retrograde on the 21st so you’ll enjoy three weeks of dreamtime and things not exactly going according to plan… Venus enters Pisces on the 27th, squaring Saturn and Neptune both. Although couch potato –ness will be tempting, it’s time to exercise some discipline and get to the gym or to Tai Chi…
