SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) December is an interesting month, not without complexity… but we Sagittarians like it complicated! It starts off with a Mercury-Neptune square which is a slippery combination, nice for dreamy inspiration but difficult if you have detail-oriented work to accomplish. Venus is in Sag and ahead of the Sun, and Mercury is just behind it. By the 6th, the day of a whopping full moon in Gemini, Mercury catches up to the Sun and makes a potent but wee little angle to Venus. This full moon will be really long on talking – something Sag finds easy to do under just about every circumstance. the-hunger-games-katniss-bowSeriously, the 6th and 7th are about connecting and talking and having lots of mental exchanges with people, sharing values and plans. In addition, the Sun, Moon, and Mercury all square Chiron. This talking isn’t just chatter. It’s far-reaching, strategic and healing. (In other words, it’s a great weekend for community organizing, and in light of how exact the Uranus-Pluto square is this month, we sure need some of that!) For all you Sag’s born in the first week of December, your year will be filled of fabulous interchange with others. Nice! That’s also true for those born the second week of December, although by the 10th Venus moves far enough away from the Sun and Mercury to enter Capricorn… Venus in Capricorn is nice and sensuous if you ask me. See—I’m loading up all the good news because Saturn – moving quickly through the end of Scorpio – spends most of the month in a half square to Uranus and Pluto. Ugh. The world!! What can I say?! It’s a very intense month for the planet. Then on the 23rd, Saturn enters Sagittarius for the first time in about 29 years. For those Sag’s born in the first few days of Sag (Nov 22-25) Saturn will be right on our Suns through mid June when it sneaks back into Scorpio til September ’15. That is kind of … intense, and even very stressful, especially with the Uranus-Pluto dynamics. Somehow early Sag’s are in the midst of a lot of firestorms all year long and/or shouldering a great deal of responsibility. But here is some more good news: for those of us born in ’54 – ’55 and ‘83-’84, our Saturn returns are over or are ending quite soon…. That’s good, right? But back to the month at hand—the winter solstice is on the 21st this year, marking the longest day of the year when the Sun enters Capricorn. There are beautiful Venus aspects that day which should moderate the Uranus-Pluto tumult. Moments after the solstice there is a new moon in Capricorn. It’s is a great time to focus on healing the planet. The Venus-Node aspects should make for an enjoyable holiday week.

CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) Well, I got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the first week of CapricornDecember brings some really fruitful exchanges with people. It culminates on the voluble Gemini full moon on the 6th, and together with the Sun-Mercury-Venus-Chiron aspects, it is all-talk-all-the-time. Seriously, the first two weeks of December are great for exchanging ideas and feeling part of a larger network of values and thought. By the 10th Venus enters Capricorn, followed by Mercury on the 16th. Uranus and Pluto are in a quite exact square for the month (oy!) and Saturn in late Scorpio makes an important angle to them, wreaking even more havoc than we thought possible on the planet as a whole. Then there is some relief around the Winter Solstice on the 21st, when the Sun enters your sign of Capricorn. Venus sits in the exact same spot as Pluto and squares Uranus. The new moon in Capricorn moments after the solstice captures this energy, moderating the bombast of Mars and the Sun on the earth axis. This is a critical new moon for meditating on world peace and the healing of our little blue planet – I mean it! Then Venus squares the North Lunar Node, making for a nice week of intimate connections. The month ends with Mars in Aquarius opposing Jupiter in Leo, engaging your desire for productive effort.

AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) Oh jeez, December is complicated! It starts off with Mercury and Neptune making you spacey and having trouble getting things done. Then Mercury in Sag catches up to the Sun and Chiron by the 6th and makes a nice angle to Venus. This just exaggerates the talkative aspect of the Gemini full moon that day. It is a gabfest all the way around, or at least an exchange of ideas and plans, and the strong Mercury influence lasts a good two weeks. Mars enters your own sign on the 4th, so there’s a lot of air and fire in the sky right now – remember that air fans fire’s flames, Aquariusmaking for some bombast. By the 10th Venus enters Capricorn, and on the 21st, the day of the Winter Solstice, the Sun does as well. You will need this earthy Capricorn energy to ground you a bit.   In fact, the day of the Winter Solstice also brings a spectacular new moon in Capricorn. We’ll need it and its healing aspects! Uranus and Pluto are in a tight square all month and Saturn spends most of December making an angle to them – that’s the “oh jeez!” part of the month. Saturn in that combination makes for an even more complicated set of forces battling it out on the world stage…. But the good news is that Venus squares the North Lunar Node for a week starting the 21st, facilitating intimacy and connection. The month ends with a Mars-Jupiter opposition. You’ll be busy!

PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) December is a month of contradictions. It starts with a dreamy Mercury-Neptune square until Mercury in Sag catches up the Sun where it hangs out til mid-December. There is an awful lot of combustible fiery and airy energy in the sky, culminating on the Gemini full moon on the 6th. It will be a great time for exchanging ideas with people—just Piscesbe careful of arguments. The Uranus-Pluto square is particularly exact this month, and Saturn makes a half-square to it. Oy! The world will be even more tense and fractious this month than one could imagine. The good news is that the Winter Solstice comes along on the 21st with some nice Venus-Pluto aspects and new moon in Capricorn just moments after the solstice.   This new moon is an especially gorgeous one, and we should all take the time to meditate on peace and justice and healing for the planet. Seriously! Venus then squares the North Lunar Node the week of the 21st, which makes for holiday cheer. Mars in Aquarius opposes Jupiter at the very end of December, placing the focus on the happy completion of a project.

ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) The month starts off dreamily with a Mercury-Neptune square and then an extreme dose of the rational mind kicks in with almost two weeks of a Sun-Mercury conjunction in Sag. The full moon in Gemini on the 6th brings all that thinking and exchange of ideas to a head. It is a talky full moon, that’s for sure. Make sure you’re around people you like to talk to! All the fire and air in the sky makes for just a bit of bombast, so take it easy. AriesKeep in mind that the Uranus-Pluto square is very exact this month and makes an aspect to Saturn – oy! There are likely to be many (more) clashes with power structures this month and perhaps some environmental events as well…Things will be intense. Then the Winter Solstice on the 21st coincides with a gorgeous new moon and pretty Venus aspects. Pray for world peace and healing – for real. Venus then squares the North Lunar Node for a week, making for fun times over the holidays. The month ends with Mars in Aquarius opposing Jupiter in Leo. Hmm. Interesting. Something is up about completing a project.

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) Well, this month is kind of a mess, sorry to say! It starts off all dreamy and vague with Mercury squaring Neptune. You may have trouble keeping track of things, especially accessories like gloves and phones. And your keys – a particular Taurean weakness! Then life goes all rational and linear for two weeks with Mercury in Sag catching up to the Sun. TaurusBy the time of the full moon in Gemini on the 6th, Mercury and the Sun and Moon all square Chiron. It is a great time for planning and for exchanging ideas, for scheming and organizing. There is a great deal of combustible energy in the sky, however – many planets in fire and air signs. Tempers are running high so be careful of arguments. Uranus and Pluto are in a very exact square this month, with Saturn making an angle to them. The world is in one big spasm of revolutionary fervor. By the 10th Venus enters Capricorn and is followed soon after by the Sun. Yay! It’s the Winter Solstice on the 21st, signaling the Sun entering Capricorn and the return of the light.   In fact, there is a gorgeous new moon in Capricorn on the 21st just a few moments after the solstice. Venus in Capricorn sits with Pluto on the new moon, making it a particularly good time for healing. Use it to meditate on world peace and the healing of the planet.   Venus then squares the North Node, and the holiday period will be an enjoyable one with friends and intimates.

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) I hate to break it to you but you’ll be kinda riled up this month. There is a ton of combustible energy in the sky this month – fire and air – as well as a full moon in Gemini on the 6th. And a big Mercury influence. But let me get to the details: the month starts off with a dreamy Mercury-Neptune square, and then Mercury catches up to the Sun by the 6th and they both square Chiron. Mercury marches with the Sun for a couple of weeks. So for the first 2 weeks of December – Geminiespecially around the full moon– you will be trying to use Gemini linear thinking to manage Sagittarian fire. Not a good idea – it is in fact a time to allow yourself to be inspired and not overthink things. Get riled up, go throw yourself into some community organizing or at least into some lively discussions. Let Sagittarian inspiration carry you into action.   Meanwhile, the world continues to be a very intense place: the Uranus-Pluto square is very tight this month and made even more dramatic by Saturn aspect. Between that and the strong Mercury influence your nerves will be shot. Then the Winter Solstice comes on the 21st with interesting Venus aspects and a beautiful new moon in Capricorn. Use it for some large visioning and meditation to heal our planet. The week after brings nice aspects for connecting with intimates. If you are an early Gemini, get ready for 6 months of Saturn opposing your Sun when Saturn enters Sag on the 23rd. That’s enough to make a girl kind of serious!

CANCER (JUNE 21- JUL 21) This is an interesting and complicated month. First of all, there are a great number of planets in fire and air signs, which is a very different energy than your watery self.   The first half of the month has people being quite combustible and opinionated. You would do best to avoid arguments, especially around the full moon in Gemini on the 6th. Nonetheless the full moon period is a excellent for the exchange of ideas and for inspired interchange with people. The Mercury10367401-atlentic-ocean-waves-near-biarritz-france influence continues to be strong into mid-December, so it is a good time for communication. Meanwhile the world is a freakin’ mess – even worse than usual since the Uranus-Pluto square is more exact and makes an angle to Saturn. People are very riled up and also tense about what is happening globally. The Sagittarian and Gemini energy gives us a great opportunity for creative and inspired thinking and organizing.   Then comes is the Winter Solstice on the 21st – yay!   This is an important event for you, as the Sun enters your opposite sign of Capricorn. There is a beautiful new moon in Capricorn just moments after the Solstice – definitely use it for meditating on the healing of our planet. The week after the 21st has pretty Venus aspects making for enjoyable holidays.

LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) What an interesting month for you! First, there is a ton of fire and air energy in the sky, a combustible and inspired combination. This influence – especially strong for the first few weeks of December– makes you feel as though your brain is on fire. That is, except for the first few days of the month when the Mercury Neptune square may make you spacey and likely to spill a beer on your laptop…. But then Mercury in Sag catches up to the Sun, and there is a big full moon in Gemini babycatton the 6th.   Jeez, this is a talky full moon. Or at least an opinionated one, and you will be holding forth somehow somewhere.   It is actually a great time for thinking, writing, innovating and exchanging ideas. And god knows there is plenty to carry on about. The Uranus-Pluto square is exact this month and complicated by an aspect to Saturn. The world is a mess and it’s time for revolution. Get busy! Then it’s the Winter Solstice on the 21st with a beautiful new moon in Capricorn. This is an important time to meditate on peace and justice. The week after the 21st Venus aspects the North Lunar Node, so spend the holidays enjoying people you care about. Jupiter is in your sign and by the end of the month Mars in Aquarius makes a juicy opposition to it, highlighting action and purpose.

VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21)  Hmm. December is …well, interesting! It begins with Mercury in Sag squaring Neptune in Pisces, which may wreak some small havoc with your technological equipment. (Don’t drop your phone in the toilet!) But that’s Virgo_Artfleeting, and Mercury catches up the Sun in Sag just in time for a big full moon in Gemini on the 6th. This lunation emphasizes communication and mental energy, the exchange of ideas and even some argument. It’s a good full moon for talking, that’s for sure, but beware of being too linear when what’s required is inspiration and wisdom. The Mercury influences continue into the middle of the month, so you will be fired up and opinionated. The world is very tense this month – even more than it has been due to the exactness of the Uranus-Pluto square and Saturn’s presence in the aspects. Oy! Then on the 21st the Sun enters Capricorn for the Winter Solstice and the return of the light. A beautiful new moon in Capricorn occurs moments after the Solstice – use it for focusing on healing the world.   Holiday transits are enjoyable unless you’re an early Virgo and experiencing the weight of Saturn squaring your Sun as of December 23rd. This influence will inspire some restructuring of your life over the next six months.

LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) December is an interesting month! The first few weeks have a preponderance of planets in air and Librafire signs as well as a strong Mercury influence.   It’s all about the world of ideas and inspiration, honey.   The month begins with a spacey combination of Mercury and Neptune but don’t worry because Mercury in Sag quickly catches up to the Sun and the energy shifts from dreamy to more linear. Don’t get too linear, though, especially around the full moon in Gemini on the 6th. Be inspired and definitely talk a lot. This full moon is all about the exchange of ideas, planning, moving forward with an agenda. Sounds like community organizing to me! Sounds like movement building!   Yay! God knows we need that with the Uranus-Pluto square being exact this month and Saturn being in the middle of the aspects – ugh. The world is a freakin’ mess. Then the 21st brings the Winter Solstice and the Sun enters Capricorn. In fact, there is a beautiful new moon in Capricorn just moments after the solstice. This powerful lunation has to do with the healing of our planet. Then the week of the 21st Venus aspects the North Lunar Node, making for a nice time with friends and loved ones. Enjoy! The month ends with a Mars-Jupiter opposition, highlighting fulfillment of a project.

SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) After a few days of spacey Mercury Neptune aspects at the start of the month, Mercury in Sag quickly catches up to the Sun. the emphasis this month is on thinking and exchanging ideas, with all the fire and air in the sky.Scorpio Funny These two elements can be combustible , however, so avoid arguments.   The full moon in Gemini on the 6th is a very talky full moon, and so you should be sitting around your kitchen table yammering up a storm. It is a time to share ideas, plans, strategies. In fact, it is a great time for community organizing! God knows we need it – -the world is a mess, even worse this month, with the Uranus-Pluto square quite exact and Saturn in the middle of it too. Then the energy shifts on the 21st, the day of the Winter Solstice when the Sun enters Capricorn. Between the beautiful new moon in Capricorn that day and powerful Venus-Pluto aspects, it is a great time for meditating on the healing of our wee blue planet. Venus then aspects the North Lunar Node and the holidays will have enjoyable relationship aspects. The month ends with some Mars-Jupiter-inspired purposeful activity.
