ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) This is  a very interesting and exciting month for you.  Mercury in Aries turns retrograde on the 1st-  ai yi yi!  Personally I find Mercury retrograde in my own sign to be especially vexing so you might be aggravated.  Venus enters Aries on the 5^th, and then things get mighty interesting.  As if the Aries new moon and solar eclipse of the 8^th weren’t enough, the planets line up in all kinds of complex ways on the eclipse. Remember that eclipses magnify and intensify the action of the new moon, concentrating a helluva lot of energy. Jupiter in Taurus gets closer and closer to Uranus this month, moving into an exact conjunction by the middle of April.  But they are close enough so that we have Jupiter-Uranus effect on the new moon, bringing unexpected openings and opportunities.  At the same time Mars in Pisces catches up to Saturn in Pisces and they make an angle to Jupiter and Uranus. And oh did  I mention that Venus gets in the mix too?  So the eclipse is not just the eclipse—it carries the energies of all these planets lined up together: Jupiter/Uranus/Venus in a hard angle to Mars/Saturn. Hmm.  Creative openings meet resistance. Radical vision and transformation of structures, personally and politically.  Put on your seatbelt! The Saturn Mars business last the entire week of the 7^th, signifying hard work and focus.  Use the Jupiter/Uranus energy for the month to shake yourself loose from some things that are weighing you down.  The Sun enters Taurus on the 19^th and spends a few days in an exact angle to Pluto and to Saturn, leading up to the full moon in Scorpio on the 23^rd.  Mercury turns direct on the 25^th, easing some tension.  Keep in mind that Saturn and Pluto are not an easy combination unless you are doing very deep transformational work, so get to it.   It’s time to work with your shadow. 

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20)   April is a helluva month, dominated as it is by the eclipse and some powerful aspects of outer planets that bring high drama to the world stage all month long…Or more high drama, I should say.  So sit tight and stay on that meditation cushion.  April 1^st brought Mercury retrograde in Aries, which just adds to the weirdness. Go with the flow, and pay attention to what is bubbling up from your unconscious especially this month.  The big news is of course the April 8^th new moon in Aries and solar eclipse.  That would be enough in and of itself but the planetary lineup on this new moon is kind of amazing and a tad unsettling.  Jupiter in Taurus gets within spitting distance of Uranus and actually spends the whole month sitting with Uranus.  That is kind of wild and exciting, signifying breakthroughs, opportunities, openings.  Okay, we like that, especially since Venus is also in the picture, making a quick pass over Jupiter and Uranus on the 8^th. But—and of course there is a big “but”—they make an exact angle to Mars and Saturn which are sitting together in Pisces.  Mars and Saturn are kind of intense, bringing focus and your nose to the grindstone, but it is a combination that can also be a bit hard, tight, unforgiving.  You might overdo under this aspect. so be careful not to go overboard with weightlifting or just plain old working too much. In aspect to Jupiter and Uranus, there is the chance of a breakthrough and also a breakdown of structures and systems.  Saturn and Uranus can bring revolutionary vision. For you, especially with Jupiter and Uranus sitting together in Taurus, you need to harness your most radical vision and apply it.  Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19^th and we get more complexity, since the Sun makes a powerful angle to Pluto for a few days and oh, Saturn too.  Watch out for power struggles and be aware that people are operating very unconsciously –not a good thing when they are testing the limits of their power.  The Scorpio full moon falls on the 23^rd, a deep and reflective full moon. The Pluto aspects make it an opportunity for transformation and speaking truth to power. Mercury turns direct on the 25^th. 

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20)  March was weird, and April is even weirder, so get ready.  Mercury in Aries turned retrograde on the 1^st and lasts through the 25^th, making people’s motivations and urges quite unconscious.  Then the outer planets line up in all kinds of dramatic ways this month, including on the April 8^th solar eclipse and new moon.  Your job is to stay grounded and peaceful during a stressful month, okay?  Jupiter in Taurus catches up to Uranus this month, which is kind of juicy and exciting, creating unexpected openings.  But these two planets also make a hard angle to Saturn this month and by late April, Pluto as well. Oy.  On the eclipse, Jupiter, Uranus, and Venus all aspect Saturn and Mars who sit together in Pisces.  Yowza. There is an opportunity here for breakthrough and for liberation as long as you can let Saturn and Mars work for you and not make you doubt yourself and dig yourself into a hole of self-defeat.  Put Saturn and Mars to work—so some research, make a plan, take action.  The Sun enters Taurus on the 19^th and immediately makes an angle to Pluto and Saturn, bringing up issues for you of not being seen.  But crisis brings growth, and Pluto is all about transformation, so let the changes unfold.  The Scorpio full moon on the 23^rd brings all of this to a head.  Be careful about power struggles, and as I said, this Mercury retrograde has people operating straight out of their unconscious.  My advice is for you to lay low on the full moon.  Mercury turns direct on the 25^th. 

CANCER  (JUNE 21- JULY 21)  Well, April is a hot mess, bringing some dramatic action by outer planets and of course, the April 8^th solar eclipse. Mercury in Aries turns retrograde on the 1^st, and given the Aries energy, people will be acting from impulse without knowing it.  The solar eclipse and Aries new moon on the 8^th carry very intense planetary energy.  Jupiter in Taurus meets up with Uranus and they hang together all month – not a bad thing at all. In fact, that combination brings unexpected openings and breakthroughs.  On the day of the eclipse Venus makes a quick angle to them –even nicer. But Mars in Pisces meets up with Saturn on the 8^th and they make an angle to Venus, Jupiter, Uranus.  Yow!  This is breakthrough and breakdown at perhaps the same time!  For you, it can mean liberation and new opportunity – be careful of any resistance to change and desire for security that might keep you stuck. This is not a time to stay stuck, that’s for sure.  The Jupiter Uranus Saturn aspect continues all month, and Pluto gets involved once the Sun enters Taurus on the 19^th.  The Sun lines up with Pluto as well, and we have some intense days leading up to the April 23^rd full moon in Scorpio. LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21)  April is a bit crazy and it sure is interesting, so get ready.  Mercury in Aries turns retrograde on the 1^st, bringing a certain amount of unconscious impulsivity your way.  The Aries new moon and solar eclipse on the 8^th is not only a big deal astronomically but it is a major astrological event with a powerful lineup of planets.  Jupiter in Taurus catches up to Uranus this month and are in position on the eclipse. This is an exciting combination of opportunity and breakthrough, and on the eclipse Venus briefly lines up with them. But—and you knew there would be a “but”—Saturn and Mars sit together in Pisces on April 8^th and make an intense angle to Jupiter, Uranus, and Venus. This is powerful and contradictory because Saturn and Mars can suck the air out of all that Jupiter -Uranus possibility.  At the same time Saturn and Uranus brings structural change and breakdown, even liberation.  Suffice it to say that the world will be a mess but that you need to let inspiration and liberation guide you.
