LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21)  August begins with some interesting dynamics.  Mercury in Leo is sitting in the same spot as the Leo Sun for the first few days, and they both oppose Saturn in Aquarius.  This is a great combination for focused mental work, for writing and analysis, or for some technical project. It is also a combination that makes you prone to worry, so watch out for that. You could be obsessing about things out of your control, but try not to.  At the same time Mars in the first degree of Virgo opposes Jupiter at the very tail end of Aquarius, and this is pretty delightful.  Lean in to Mars and Jupiter and let them inspire fun and conviviality, and leave those worries behind—for now.  The New moon in Leo on the 8^th falls at 15 degrees Leo, and joins Uranus on the so-called “earth axis.” Now you can worry, or at least be very concerned about the state of our wee blue planet.  This lineup will likely bring more dramatic climate events and earth changes as well as some political dramas.   As is always the case with Uranus, we have to expect the unexpected.  At the same time Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune, surfacing humanitarian impulses, so you may find yourself wanting to give of yourself and run somewhere to throw sandbags to protect people in the latest flood… Things are pretty quiet til the 18^th when the Sun in Leo opposes Jupiter in Aquarius for a good few days of fulfillment and satisfaction.  Enjoy—especially if your birthday is between the 18^th and 22^nd.   Jupiter and the Sun in combination bring the end of one cycle and the beginning of another, a sense of completion and closure. From the 18^th to 20^th Mercury and Mars pair up in Virgo for a few days of intense mental work and communication.  Be careful of being too rational and critical during this time.  Then the Sun enters Virgo on the 22^nd, about 9 hours after the Aquarius full moon.  This is the second Aquarius full moon in a row—what fun!!  It is a full moon without too much planetary turmoil so really enjoy this one!  From the 24^th through 27^th Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune for a few days of dreamy inspiration. The month ends with an emphasis on relationships and family, and on the 31^st Mars in Virgo opposes Neptune, amplifying those mushy emotions of connection.

VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21)   August brings a great deal of action in Virgo, with Mercury, Venus and Mars all moving through your own sign at some point this month.  August begins with The Sun and Mercury at the same spot in Leo, both opposing Saturn.  That’s some intense mental energy: don’t let your brain explode.  It’s a good time to do hard thinking about something knotty, but also keep your eye out for needless worrying and for communication glitches. Meanwhile Mars in the first degree of Virgo opposes Jupiter, so no need to worry or have any angst—just enjoy how things are going.  August 8^th brings a powerful Leo New moon which line sup exactly with Uranus in Taurus.  Bad weather goes without saying, and also some global drama and upheavals.  Stay calm!  At the same time Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune, stimulating romantic connection and an overall sense of belonging.  Things are quite calm on the planetary front until the 18^th, when the Leo Sun opposes Jupiter in Aquarius for a good few days. This is a great combination for fulfillment, for ending one cycle and beginning another.  Just keep in mind that til the 20^th Mercury and Mars both pair up in your own sign of Virgo. This could be difficult for you—you’re a bit testy and easily annoyed.  Be careful of what you say and how you say it.  People have thin skins, especially in the runup to the full moon.  The Aquarius full moon falls on the 22^nd, and about 9 hours later the Sun enters your own sign.  This is a fun and celebratory full moon—enjoy!  It is followed by a couple of days of Mercury in Virgo opposing Neptune   —   that’s dreamy and inspired.  The month ends with an emphasis on friends and intimates, while Mars and Neptune put you in a frame of mind of “nothing is more important than relationships.” Not a bad place to be! 

LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21)  If you have work to do at the top of the month, now is the time to do it.  The Sun and Mercury are paired in Leo – always good for mental activity—and that they oppose Saturn gives them some heft.  Apply yourself to a project and focus!  Mars at the very start of Virgo opposes Jupiter so not only should you be able to focus but you will also enjoy it.   Avoid any tendency to worry and go down some Saturn -Mercury rabbit hole of stress.  You’ll have plenty of time for worry (I wish I were kidding…) on the August 8^th new moon in Leo which  lines up with Uranus and they both fall on the “earth axis,” which means big impact on the world.  Expect some unexpected drama and also expect the expected, namely bad climate/weather dynamics on this new moon.  At least the Venus – Neptune angle inspire humanitarian care and a sense of all being in this together.  Things are actually quite calm til the 18^th when the Sun in Leo opposes Jupiter in Aquarius.  (And did I mention that Venus enters your own sign of Libra near midnight on the 15^th?)   The Sun-Jupiter combination is a nice one, all about completion and fulfillment, the natural end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one.  Keep an eye out for the Mercury-Mars lineup in Virgo from the 18^th to 20^th – it packs a punch of mental activity but could have you uncharacteristically edgy. SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21)  August begins with a nice pairing of Mercury and the Sun in Leo, bringing a focus on communication and mental energy. Both the Sun and Mercury line up in opposition to Saturn and you want to get something figured out. It’s a good combination for analytic or technical work of some kind, so get to it. At the same time Mars in the first degree of Virgo opposes Jupiter, so whatever you do you will be able to enjoy it and it won’t be a struggle… The Leo new moon falls on the 8^th and lands right on the earth axis along with Uranus.  Uh-oh.  Expect the unexpected and also expect some predictable bad weather and climate events… It will be a powerful and tumultuous new moon.  Venus opposes Neptune so whatever happens, people will eb able to rise to their best selves.  Things are quite for you til about the 18^th and then it gets very interesting.  The Sun in leo opposes Jupiter in Aquarius for a good few days.  This is a juicy combination that has to do with completion and fulfillment, with the natural ending of something and a  new beginning or opportunity.  One door closes, another opens.  From the 18^th to 20^th Mercury and Mars join up together in Virgo – great for getting things done but watch out for conflict.  That is a sharp-thinking and sharp-tongued combination.   In any case, you will be busy!   The Aquarius full moon (yes, for the second month in a row!) falls on the 22^nd,  and just a few hours later the Sun enters Virgo.   This is a fun full moon, so enjoy.   Then on the 24^th Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune for a couple of dreamy, intuitive days.  The month ends with an emphasis on the important of relationships and connections. SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21)  August begins with an interesting and useful lineup of the Sun and Mercury in Leo, opposing Saturn.  This is a great combination for thinking and writing, for analyzing and getting deep into something.  Try to stay away from the rabbit hole of worry, which Saturn and Mercury can easily pull you into. Instead lean into Mars in the very first degree of Virgo and its opposition to Jupiter.  Whatever you are doing, have fun with it.  There will be plenty of time for worry in about a week, when the Leo new moon hits on the 8^th and the Sun, Moon and Uranus all line up on the earth axis.  Expect the unexpected, and also expect very bad weather and more climate change events.  At the same time Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces, and so at least people will rise to the occasion and you will feel called to give of yourself in some way.   Things remain fairly quiet on the planetary front until the 18^th, when the Sun in Leo spends a good few days in opposition to your ruling planet Jupiter.  This is a beautiful combination or completion and fulfillment, for the natural turning of the wheel of fate, a natural shift in your life.  From the 18^th til the 20^th  Mercury and Mars pair up in Virgo, so be sure to feel the protection of Jupiter in a spiritual  and soulful way and not get distracted by worry or details or mundane aggravations.  Use Mercury and Mars to help you take care of business. CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19)  August is an interesting month for you. Even though Leo is not an easy sign for you there is enough happening in sister earth sign Virgo for you to be able to cruise through it.  August begins with the Sun and Mercury sitting together in Leo, both opposing your friend Saturn.  This is an excellent combination for mental work, for study and focus.  If you have something that needs to get figured out, get to it. Communication could be a bit tricky, however, so work at being clear. Be aware  that communication could be challenging right now, but Mars in opposition to Jupiter also helps you relax into whatever bear of a problem you are wrestling with.   The 8^th brings a powerful new moon which lines up with Uranus on the earth axis. Uh oh.  Uranus always brings the unexpected, and this time you also want to expect the predictable –bad weather, climate disaster, global tumult. PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19)  August is an interesting month for you – all the Leo energy is a little weird for you but there are enough planets in Virgo to make you comfortable.  August begins with the Leo Sun pairing up with Mercury and opposing Saturn.  This is a serious and productive combination so use it to wrestle with a technical or intellectual problem, or have serious purposeful discussions.  In addition, Mars in Virgo opposes Jupiter so enjoy whatever it is you are doing.   You can even have fun with it.   Be careful that the Mercury-Saturn dynamics don’t send you into a tailspin of worry about things. ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19)  August is an interesting month – that is if you can call the ongoing tumult of Uranus on the earth axis interesting!   It begins with the Sun in Leo joining up with Mercury and opposing Saturn.  This is a great combination for diving into some juicy mental work. At the same time, Mars in the first degree of Virgo opposes Jupiter, so enjoy whatever knotty problem you are wrestling with.  Have fun with it, and avoid the Mercury -Saturn temptation of worrying about things out of your control… The worry comes a week later, on the Leo new moon on the 8^th which falls with Uranus and the earth axis, bringing global angst, really bad weather ,and more climate disaster.   Deep breaths.   Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune at the same time, and so there is an opportunity for humanity to step up with love and compassion. The power fof prayer cannot be underestimated!  Things then remain relatively calm in the planetary sphere until the 18^th when the Leo Sun opposes  Jupiter in Aquarius.  This beautiful combination brings a sense of completion and fulfillment, a shift in natural cycles of life.  It’s a time for you to appreciate all that you have. TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20)  What a month!  It begins with the Sun in Leo paired up with Mercury and opposing Saturn.  Now that’s a useful lineup, bringing mental focus and an ability for you to do some problem-solving.  It’s a great time to tackle a nudgy, detailed piece of work. (Or on the other hand, you could just watch the Mercury Saturn efforts of all those Olympians!)   At the same time, Mars in the first breath of Virgo opposes Jupiter, so you’re enjoying whatever it is you are doing.  Try to avoid Mercury-Saturn rabbit holes of worry. We will have plenty of time for worry starting on August 8^th, the day of the new moon in Leo which falls with Uranus in Taurus right on top of the earth axis… With Uranus you have to expect the unexpected, and also expect the predictable.
