ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) Let’s see how this month’s planets help or hinder your lockdown experience…April begins with Saturn and Mars paired up in the wee degrees of Aquarius, while Jupiter and Pluto still sit together in Capricorn all month. So you get to be purposeful, in the best Aries kind of way, letting Saturn and Mars help you build those sustainable practices that Jupiter and Pluto are
requiring from us. The Aquarian energy is visionary and principled, so reach out to the collective. Create humanistic forms of mutual aid. By the 3rd Mercury in Pisces joins up with Neptune for a few days of extreme sensitivity to the suffering of the world. And then here comes the Libra full moon on the 7th with Mars aspecting Uranus, and everyone’s panic levels go through the roof. The Mars Uranus square is a bit jaggedy, unpredictable, so watch your anger. By the 13th the Aries Sun catches up to an angle with Jupiter and Pluto for a good 5 days. This is an opportunity for you to develop those plans for sustainability with your loved ones. It is deeper than economics, although it does have a lot to do with that. It is a good time for you to make decisions about land and planning, about how to care for the people you love and also for the greater collective. This crisis is forcing all of us to envision new ways of being, and your fiery inspiration is grounded in an earthy reality. Use it. You have the capacity to spark hope, and people need that right now. The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and squares Saturn for a few days, including on Earth Day, April 22—which is also the new moon in Taurus. The mood of the planet is serious, sober, and although people are chafing under the limitations, you have the focus to roll up your sleeves, help others in whatever way you can, and create new structures. The month ends with a burst of creativity and inspiration.
TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) This is an odd month, but if anyone can make it work, you can. Saturn and Mars have entered Aquarius and are paired up for the first few days. On the one hand, it’s kind of a slog and on the other, the Aquarian energy is very welcome, bringing humanistic vision, a sense of collective
responsibility, and a reformulation of what real connection means in a context of physical distancing. Taurus and its ruling planet Venus are all about relatedness, after all. Believe it or not, the backdrop to the entire month of April opens up lots of possibilities, especially for you earthy folk. Jupiter and Pluto sit together in Capricorn all month long, and this combination really surfaces a concern for mutuality and support. It also allows everyone – especially you Tauruses, to set up systems of care. Go for it. By April 5th, Mars in Aquarius moves away from Saturn and makes an angle to Uranus, jangling your nerves. Mercury catches up to Pisces and you’re likely to be awash in grief. Feel your feelings; attend to self-care, especially as we approach the Libra full moon on the 7th. Not a time to let your yoga or meditation practice slide. By the 13th the Sun in Aries makes an angle to Jupiter and Pluto, likely putting the focus on economic suffering and the need for really practical safety-net solutions. It is a good time for you to do some planning – or planting. Get your garden ready. The Sun enters your sign of Taurus on the 19th, and lines up with Saturn in early Aquarius. Not the most fun situation. People are stressed, feeling hemmed in. It is a good time to do some serious work. The beautiful Taurus new moon coincides with Earth Day on the 22nd. Use this new moon to focus on healing and tending to the earth. The Sun meets up with Uranus on the 24th for a few days of craziness. Again – no slouching on that self-care thing. The month ends with juicy creativity combinations so get going and do some art-making.
GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) How does a Gemini handle not being able to interact with people in a physical way, you wonder? Well, as difficult as it is, you’ll be aided by a few things this month. April begins with Mars and Saturn paired up together in Aquarius. Yes, this feels stressful and even oppressive, and yet the
Aquarian part of it allows you to envision new ways of being and connecting. Just remember to breathe! And on the 3rd, Venus enters Gemini, where because of its 6 week retrograde in May-June it spends the next 3 months. Venus in Gemini will make sure that the Gemini value of communication and connection is really prominent. But back to the first week of April…By the 3rd Mercury catches up to Neptune and oh, you’re a weepy mess. Mars pulls away from Saturn and makes an angle to Uranus by the 5th, so not only are you weepy but you’re also edgy and angsty, especially since pressure is building towards the Libra full moon on the 7th. This is not easy, so be sure to breathe and also be sure to get outside for walks and do other things to nurture yourself. Stay away from screen-media, curl up in bed, and read books. Keep in mind that Jupiter and Pluto sit together in Capricorn for all of April, and this combination gets really triggered when the Sun makes an angle to it on the 13th for 5 days or so. Jupiter and Pluto have everything to do with economics and sustainability, the urge to create systems of mutual aid and care. That issue will be up in a big way, so get ready to do some planning. Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn for a few days. Everyone is feeling pressed and you’re jumping out of your skin, being fed up with the strange requirements of our new normal. But—the beautiful Taurus new moon on the 22nd coincides with Earth Day. Celebrate the earth and rich creativity and let Saturn help you set up some creative structures. Then the Taurus Sun meets up with Uranus for a few days of cliff-hanging edginess. Stay calm. The month ends with connectedness and creative expression. Yes, it’s a rollercoaster—what can I say?
CANCER (JUNE 21- JULY 21) So let’s see how you get through this month of very limited activity. At least you’re a Cancer, so you love being at home. Here is the thing – this month has ups and downs. It starts with a sense of constraint as Mars catches up to Saturn in early Aquarius for a few days. Then Mercury and Neptune conspire to have you even more sensitive than your usual watery Cancerian state. Self care is really important right now, as is acknowledging your
feelings and letting them come up. Mars moves from Saturn to an angle to Uranus just in time for the full moon in Libra on the 7th. The full moon is all about relationships, realizing what you have, don’t have, and want. The Mars-Uranus effect may shake you up and stimulate some unexpected action on your part, so don’t be surprised at what you feel like doing for love. The backdrop to the entire month is the ongoing Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. This combination in part reflects the collapse of our financial system and also the potential for finding new, sustainable ways of supporting each other. Let new ideas of mutuality manifest. Let clarity about how and where you might live take shape. By the 13th the Sun makes and angle to Jupiter and Pluto for good few days, and so these issues of money and sustainability will be really up and causing some amount of stress for you. The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn. That is a serious combination. You’ll be feeling the weight of our global situation. The beautiful Taurus new moon falls on the 22nd, right on time for Earth Day. Use this new moon to make plans and structures to support you and loved ones during this stressful time. Then the Taurus Sun catches up to Uranus by the 24th for a few days of serious edginess. Meditate meditate meditate. Use the Venus and Mercury aspects at the end of the month for inspiration.
LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) Well, you have some particular astrological situations to contend with this month. The main one is that Mars has just crossed the line into Aquarius along with Saturn. April begins with these two planets sitting together and you are feeling a serious sense of outside forces impingeing on you. The combination of Saturn and Mars usually feels like restraint and pressure, and so you are really feeling confined, especially if you were born at the start of Leo. You are probably triggered by Saturn and Mars having entered your opposite sign. The good news is that Aquarius is like a breath of fresh air after the stolidness of
Capricorn. Aquarius brings vision and new thinking, a sense of radical change. Your job this month is to welcome the new and different, to see that another way is possible in this mess, a way that reflects humanistic values. But the run-up to the Libra full moon on the 7th will be intense. Mercury and Neptune conspire to make you extra sensitive about what’s happening in the world and to your loved ones. Be sure to take care of yourself. Around the full moon Mars moves away from Saturn and makes an angle to Uranus. People will be very tense. But again, the Mars Uranus angle is creative and it is a good time for you to envision some radical systems of mutual aid. The backdrop to this entire month is a beautiful Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in earthy Capricorn which gives rise to vision about how much is enough, about what a support/safety net really could like. The realities of economic distress become very evident around the 13th when the Aries Sun lines up with Jupiter and Pluto. The Sun then enters Taurus on the 19th, catching up to an angle with Saturn. Again – if you are an early Leo, expect to feel really pressed and stressed. But it’s a good time to set up new workable structures for yourself, especially on the delicious Taurus new moon on the 22nd—which coincides with Earth Day. Sweet, huh? Then the Taurus Sun moves into position with Uranus—expect the unexpected. The month ends with some beautiful Venus Neptune inspiration.
VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21) What a month! Mars and Saturn have just entered Aquarius, and this combination really highlights the sense of constraint and pressure that we are all feeling. Yet Aquarius is a sign that you are not so comfortable with, and so you may feel challenged to find hope in this dire reality. Be careful of information overload. Remember that Aquarius brings radical vision, a sense of possibility, and new ways of doing things. Allow yourself to be
inspired, and for your naturally inclined caretaking to shift to envisioning new models of mutual aid and connection. Keep in mind that the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn which is the backdrop to the entire month also offers a push to develop really concrete ways to sustain ourselves, to examine our patterns of consumption, to really be conscious of our mutual interrelationship. But back to April! By the 3rd or so Mercury joins with Neptune in Pisces and you feel overwhelmed by the enormity of the human cost of the pandemic. Feel your feelings and be sure to be attending to self-care—and I mean it! Anxiety is ramping up in the world as we approach the Libra full moon on the 7th, made more anxiety-producing by Mars making an angle to Uranus. It is difficult for any of us – especially Virgos—to feel they have no control and not enough information. Just get through the full moon. The Sun in Aries catches up to an angle with Jupiter and Capricorn on the 13th for a good few days. Economics will be the focus, and again, it is time to re-envision what a safety net could really look like. The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th, and immediately squares Saturn. Ooh boy, another wave of seriousness hits you. But it is a good time to set up structures of self-care and mutual support. The beautiful Taurus new moon coincides with Earth Day on the 22nd, so use new moon to get outside and commune with the natural world. Then the Taurus Sun catches up to Uranus for a couple of days on the 24th, bringing more surprises and making you antsy for change and freedom. The month ends with a very inspiring and creative Venus Neptune angle.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) Feeling hemmed in , are we? Yes, indeed we are. April begins with Mars joining up with Saturn in the very first degree of Aquarius, so the sense of constraint is really exaggerated. The Aquarian energy has some positive sides, though, not the least of which is seeing that we need alternatives ways to function as a society, and that we are able to create them. But your focus is up close and personal right now and on the people you are closest to. Mercury catches up to Neptune by the 3rd and you are feeling the weight of the suffering and loss people are experiencing. Make sure you let yourself feel it, and now is the time to attend to self care. Things get more intense in the run-up to the Libra full moon on the 7th. This moon will hit you like a ton of bricks, especially since Mars leaves Saturn and makes an angle to Uranus. You’ll be quite edgy and
anxious about people in your life– like I said, pay attention to that self -care thing! By the 13th the Aries Sun makes an angle to Jupiter and Pluto. The Jupiter Pluto combination is really the backdrop of the month, allowing us to redefine what kind of society we want as we witness the cracks and inequities in our social systems. It is a good time for you to be thinking about resources and sustainability in very personal ways and also envisioning plans of radical mutual aid. The Sun then enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn. Here we are again – feeling stressed and kinda grim. Yet it is a time for creating new structures of care, so get to it, especially on the gorgeous new moon in Taurus on the 22nd (coinciding with Earth Day!) Then the Sun catches up to Uranus in Taurus by the 24th for a few days of high anxiety and the unexpected. The month ends with a pretty Venus Neptune aspect—use its creative inspiration.
SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) April begins with Mars joining up with Saturn in the first degree of Aquarius, so the sense of restriction personally and public-ly is undeniable. Mars and Saturn are always challenging—you can feel tight, stressed and pressured. But the Aquarius energy brings a whole new vibe, and there is the potential for new ways of doing things even in the lockdown. The Saturn and Mars also give a taste for hard work and an ability to focus. Use it, because by the
3rd Mercury in Pisces catches up to Neptune and you are awash in sensitivity and grief for the world, and cant get a thing done. Be gentle with yourself! Tension builds in the run-up to the Libra full moon on the 7th, especially since Mars pulls away from Saturn and makes an angle to Uranus. This jangles the planet’s nerves, yours included. Stay calm, and really make sure you’re taking lots of baths. By the 13th the Aries Sun makes an angle to the Jupiter-Pluto pair-up in Capricorn. This Jupiter Pluto combination is very powerful, and the backdrop for the entire month. It is bringing attention to economics, and to who in the society has value and who doesn’t. It is making you think differently and creatively about sustainability and what’s possible in terms of mutual care. When the Sun meets up with Jupiter and Pluto everyone’s focus will be on these issues in a very personal way. The Sun enters your opposite sign of Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn. You will feel serious, because the world is getting another dose of grimness. Yet you’re eager to create new structures for yourself. Go for it, especially on the beautiful new moon in Taurus on the 22nd, the same day as Earth Day. It is a great time for you to make plans, plant your garden, and create tangible structures in your life that sustain you and your loved ones…. By the 24th we get the Taurus Sun catching up to Uranus. Allow yourself to have big vision. Dream up a new world! The month ends with nice creative aspects.
SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) How can a Sagittarius possibly be satisfied, having to stay home all the time? You get some help from the universe – mostly from Saturn, that’s how. In fact, April begins with a rather intense conjunction of Mars and Saturn in the first degree of Aquarius. Mars and Saturn are famous for feeling stressed and restricted, limited—big surprise. At the same time their Aquarian nature makes them more spacious. This is actually a time for
envisioning how things can be different in our world. Aquarius brings humanistic values and a capacity for change. Saturn and Mars give you the building blocks, so go for it. Then by the 3rd, Mercury in Pisces catches up to Neptune and you feel spaced out and overwhelmed, sensitive to all the suffering in the world. People get very anxious as we approach the Libra full moon on the 7th, and the anxiety reels you in too thanks to Mars connecting to Uranus. Be careful—be sure to take care of yourself, meditate, do yoga and other spiritual practices. You need them right now and can’t let them slide. By the 13th the Sun in Aries makes an angle to Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn. This powerful Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is the backdrop for the month. Mid -month it will be on full display how broken many of our systems are and how much new structures are needed. Jupiter and Pluto are about resources and sustainability. You are called to think through what mutual aid and support/safety nets can really look like… Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn. Oh we are in for another round of seriousness. Yet even in the grimness there is energy to restructure. Use the beautiful potential of the Taurus new moon on the 22nd (Earth Day!) to develop new plans and structures of connection—and to plant things! Then we get some Uranian agitation on the 24th, when you just want to expand your horizon and your field of activity. Think big! And the end of the month brings Venus’ creative inspiration.
CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) These are serious times and you can’t get away from it. The planets give you lots of opportunity for building new structures this month, beginning with the Mars Saturn conjunction in Aquarius for the first few days. Mars and Saturn do emphasize feeling stuck and restricted, and they also give you tremendous focus and an ability to move mountains. The Aquarian part
of it is a breath of fresh air, and you are able to create new ways to stay connected to your loved ones. By the 3rd Mercury catches up to Neptune and you’re very attuned to people in need. Keep track of your boundaries (stay 6 feet away!) and try to stay centered. There is a lot of fear and angst circulating in advance of the Libran full moon on the 7th, between the moon and Mars making an angle to Uranus. People are edgy and scared, and you simply cannot take care of them all. Be sure you are taking care of yourself and keeping up your self-care routines. They are non–negotiable right now! By the 13th the Aries Sun moves into position with the Jupiter-PLuto match-up in Capricorn, a powerful combination that is in effect all month. This is what is putting the focus on financial sustainability, or the lack thereof. You have an opportunity to really examine what sustainability looks like for you and to develop systems and structures of mutual aid that are grounded in a sense of humanity. In the absence of a safety net you can create a support net that is real. Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately makes an angle to Saturn. Oh wow, that’s serious. We are in for more grimness. Yet again, in the midst of obstacles people can envision new structures and a new way of being and doing. That is what is happening, especially on the beautiful and creative new moon in Taurus on the 22nd, Earth Day. Yes, honor the earth. It’s time to think big and make radical plans. The month ends with a nice dose of creative inspiration.
AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) Wow. This is quite the month for Aquarians. April begins with Mars catching up to Saturn in the first degree of Aquarius. Mars and Saturn together are famous for restriction, constriction, limitation. Yes, indeed that’s what we are all feeling. But these planets—especially in Aquarius – feel more spacious. There is a sense of possibility and new vision, even as you feel
stressed and perhaps are doing too much. If you were born in the first few days of Aquarius, you are really feeling this. By the 3rd Mercury catches up to Neptune and you are really feeling the suffering and loss that people are experiencing. Be sure to take care of yourself—yoga, meditation, exercise etc etc. Let yourself cry if you need to. As we head towards the Libran full moon on the 7th the angst level rises for everyone, thanks to Mars catching up to Uranus. Uranus is your ruling planet, and the Mars action makes you decisive and visionary. Step into leadership. By the 13th, the Aries Sun makes an angle to Jupiter and Pluto who are sitting together in Capricorn. This combination is the backdrop for the whole month, and it is all about resources and finances. We are being faced with a breakdown of systems in an unimaginable way. Jupiter and Pluto help us focus on what is really sustainable, and what humanistic systems of mutual aid and support could actually look like. We have an opportunity to design a new way of being. Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and immediately lines up with Saturn. You’re feeling serious, and yet even in the grimness, you are envisioning new structures. Use the gorgeous and fertile Taurus new moon on the 22nd to generate new ideas for the structures of your life. Then the Sun meets up with Uranus in Taurus by the 24th for a few days of craziness and the unexpected. The month ends with beautiful Venus aspects that emphasize creativity.
PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) How does a Pisces handle this lockdown and not feel disconnected? Although it’s a hard month it turns out it’s also a great month for planning, for exploring your visionary side, and for making connections in a different way. April begins with an intense Mars-Saturn lineup in the first degree of Aquarius, really emphasizing restriction. But it also is a great combination for
focus, and for visioning a new ways of working and doing. By the 3rd, Mercury in Pisces catches up with Neptune, your ruling planet. You’re overwhelmed and feeling everyone else’s pain and suffering. Let yourself grieve—it’s important to feel what you’re feeling. Also be sure that you’re taking care of yourself—exercising, meditating, eating and sleeping well. But you’re worried about loved ones, especially in the run up to the Libra full moon on the 7th which has everyone in a panic, thanks to Mars making an angle to Uranus. You’re edgy and unsettled. It will pass – you just have to keep breathing. By the 13th the Aries Sun makes an angle to the Jupiter-Pluto pairing in Capricorn. This blockbuster combination is actually the backdrop to the whole month. It has to do with resources and sustainability. Mid-month there will be more attention on the economy, but the real meaning of this for you is the visioning and creation of sustainable support nets for people. Now is the time to be figuring out how to do things differently, as we watch our existing systems lurch and careen and break down. So yes, this is stressful and awful, and yet Jupiter and Pluto and other planets are helping point the way forward. Then the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th and right away makes an angle to Saturn. You’re feeling more serious, more stressed – but again, able to form new structures. Use the gorgeous and fertile new moon in Taurus on the 22nd to plan and generate how you will restructure your life. What is it you really need? And – the new moon falls on Earth Day—how wonderful is that?! Work in your garden. By the 24th the Taurus sun meets up with Uranus for a few days of the unexpected. Let it spark your vision and capacity for change. The month ends with some beautiful Venus Neptune aspects that are all about creative expression.
