LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21)  October begins with a pretty Venus-Jupiter angle, good for juicy emotional exchanges.  At the same time Mars in Libra cozies up to the Libra Sun, and in fact, Mars in Libra moves hand in hand with the Sun until it starts pulling past the Sun just before the October 20th full moon…but more on that in a bit.  When the Mars moves with the Sun, it brings a lot of busy-ness and activity your way.  Of course, Mercury is retrograding in Libra, so that may be throwing a wrench in the works of your purposefulness. The Libra new moon on the 6th captures this very active energy, so it’s a good time to make plans and figure out some work activities.  By the 9th, Mercury retrograde crosses over the Sun and Mars. Oy!  Be careful of communication for a few days—Mars and Mercury retrograde sound like fightin’ words to me, even for your peace-inclined soul.  At the same time Venus in Sagittarius makes an angle to the Lunar Nodes, so the focus of any miscommunication is where it counts: in your closest relationships.   (Remember that Libra is always measuring everything against the ideal–  what is the best scenario? What is the best relationship? Who is the best partner?)  Saturn turns direct on the 10th, releasing some stuckness, and on the 18th both Mercury and Jupiter turn direct.  Whew!  But then by the 18th the Sun and Mars make an angle to Pluto, raising some very forceful energy, especially in the run-up to the Aries full moon on the 20th.  If you have been sitting on any conflict, it will likely come out around the full moon.  God knows I don’t want to speak ill of Mars and Pluto, since it is also a fantastic combination for organizing and mobilization, so if you made a workplan on the new moon on the 6th, you’ll have the wherewithal to carry it out by the 20th.  Mars and Pluto continue their powerful aspect all the way til the 27th, making you a force of nature.  The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd. On the 28th Venus makes an angle to Neptune for a few days of ushy-gushy romantic yearning. The month ends with the Scorpio Sun in an angle to Saturn, bringing you hard work and an overall sense of seriousness.

SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21)  October starts with Venus in your own sign making a nice angle to Jupiter.  Ooh, enjoy it—it’s very satisfying on the relational front.  Have some fun with it.  Mars in Libra pairs up with the Sun and they move forward hand in hand for almost three weeks.   This combination brings a lot of activity and movement, even though Mercury is retrograde which might affect the best laid plans of Mars… Remember to go with the flow. The lIbra new moon falls on the 6th, stimulating you to make lots of plans. The 9th brings delicious emotional connections thanks to Venus and the Lunar Nodes, but be careful — Mercury retrograde crosses over the Sun and Mars on the same day, potentially leading to miscommunication and drama.   Watch your words for a few days.  Mercury turns around on the 18th, the same day Jupiter turns direct, so there will be a release of energy.  But by the 18th the Sun and Mars make an angle to Pluto.  Expect some global tension that filters down to everyone, potentially leading to argument and power struggles,  especially as we approach the bellicose full moon in Aries on the 20th. Mars and Pluto, however, are a wonderful aspect for organizing, for moving mountains, for rallying people to a cause, and their influence continues til the 26th.   The Sun enters your own sign on the 23rd. Venus in Sagittarius makes an angle to Neptune on the 27th for a few days of creative inspiration. Use it!   October ends with a serious transit of the Scorpio Sun to Saturn in Aquarius. Hmm, you’re feeling serious and perhaps overworked, but you’re getting things done.  Happy Halloween!

SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21)  October is a busy month, thanks to Mars in Libra pairing up with the Sun for almost three weeks, bringing activity and busy-ness. At the start of the month Venus in Scorpio makes a quick angle to Jupiter, for a couple of days of fun and enjoyment.  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th, and carries with it this active Sun-Mars energy. It’s a good time to make plans and generate ideas.  Venus enters Sagittarius  on the 7th and by the 9th things get complicated.  Venus makes an angle to the Lunar Nodes which is all kinds of pretty and romantic, but Mercury retrograde crosses over the Sun and Mars. Just when you’re feeling all warm and fuzzy you put your Sagittarian foot in it with a Mercury retrograde blunder.  So watch your words for a few days—it will be easy for disagreements to occur.  Mercury turns direct on the 18th, along with Jupiter – you will feel a release, and things that have been stuck might start moving.  Also on the 18th the Sun and Mars make an angle to Pluto, surfacing some power struggles as we head into the Aries full moon on the 20th.  Be careful of arguments during this entire Mars-Pluto stretch which lasts all the way til the 27th, although Mars and Pluto are also good for organizing and getting a ton of things accomplished.  It is all in the “how” of how you get all this done, so be aware.  The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd, and by the 27th Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune for  a few days of mushy romance and creative inspiration.  October ends with a sobering Sun-Saturn aspect.  You’ll have a lot on your plate!

CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19)  There is a lot of action in Libra this month, which stimulates and aggravates you just a bit.  The  Libra Sun is paired up with Mars for almost three weeks, and as they move in tandem, they spark a lot of energy and activity.  Mercury is also retrograde in Libra, so the activities may not go the way you expect, and you really have to go with the flow of things.  October does begin with a pretty Venus-Jupiter angle, so use it for enjoying relationships.  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th and so the Sun-Mars urge to action is very strong. Use this lunation to make plans.  By the 9th Venus and the Lunar Nodes make you all romantic and mushy but Mercury retro lines up with the Sun and Mars to make you thin-skinned and super -sensitive.   There are bound to be miscommunications and misunderstandings for a few days so try to avoid argument.   Mercury turns direct on the 18th, thank god, and Jupiter does as well, bringing a sense of release.  Your ruling planet Saturn turned direct on the 11th, getting the ball rolling.  But by the 18th the Sun and Mars make a potent angle to Pluto, and power struggles abound, especially around the October 20th full moon in Aries.  There’s quite a bit of belligerent energy around, so be careful of engaging it.  But—the Mars Pluto angle is excellent for moving mountains work-wise, so you will get a  lot accomplished in the last 10 days of the month.  The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd, and by the 27th, Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune. Tap into your creative vision.  The month ends with The Scorpio Sun in an aspect to Saturn, and you are feeling all serious and hyper-responsible.  Be careful of taking on too much.

AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19)  October begins with a nice dose of fun and conviviality, thanks to Venus and Jupiter.  Mars in Libra spends almost three weeks this month paired up with the Libra Sun. As they move forward in tandem, they bring you a lot of busy-ness and activity. Be careful of working too much!  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th with all this energy of action, action, action, so go ahead and make some plans. Just remember that Mercury is retrograde (also in Libra) and so those plans may slip and slide around. By the 9th things get complicated. Venus in Sagittarius makes a pretty angle to the Lunar Nodes, which is all about connection and intimacy, yet at the same time Mercury retrograde crosses paths with the Sun and Mars.  Uh-oh, that’s some fightin’ words.  Just when you’re all mushy and romantic, someone says something stupid or hurtful.  Be careful, and watch your communication.   Mercury turns direct on the 18th, along with Jupiter . Whew. Saturn had turned direct already on the 10th, breaking us out of the slog of retrograde planets… so you will feel some easing, some release.  But—also by the 18th the Sun and Mars make an angle to Pluto, just in time for the bellicose Aries full moon on the 20th.   This planetary pile- up surfaces power struggles, as well as a huge amount of focus and organizing energy.   If there is something you need to accomplish and mobilize others to do with you, this is a good time for that, but be aware of how much you’re throwing your power around… The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd.  By the 27th, Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune, and you are yearning for something, for a way to transcend and connect with things bigger than your individual self.  Time to get back to yoga. October ends with a Sun Saturn aspect, bringing some pressure and hard work your way.

PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19)  Enjoy the start of the month, with Venus and Jupiter bringing fun and relationship connection, even if you are busier than you really like to be.  That busy-ness thing, well, what can I say. Mars in Libra joins up with the Libra Sun for almost the first three weeks of the month, so that’s a lot of busy-ness, a lot of activity.  It’s good for getting out there and hiking, for moving any way you can.  The Libra new moon is on the 6th, so use the active energy to plan and get work commitments planned out.  Keep in mind, however, that Mercury is still very much retrograde, also in Libra, and so those plans may not exactly flow.  You have to flow, but the plans may not! On the 9th Venus in Sagittarius makes a pretty delicious angle to the Lunar Nodes, which is all about mushiness.  But at the same time Mercury retro crosses over Mars and the Sun. Uh-oh, that’s some fractious, edgy energy messing up your romantic plans.  Be careful of misunderstandings and miscommunications for a few days.  Mercury turns direct on the 18th, and Jupiter does as well. This brings a sense of forward movement.   But also by the 18th Mars and the Sun make an angle to Pluto, just in time for the potentially bellicose Aries full moon on the 20th.   This is an intense combination, and there will likely be global tensions. On a personal level, power struggles can arise.  However, Mars and Pluto are a wonderful combination for focus and organizing, so if there is something you need to do that requires mobilizing people around a shared effort, now is the time.  The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd, and then Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune on the 27th for a few days of creative inspiration.  October ends with a Sun-Saturn lineup that could make you cranky and feeling pressured.

ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19)  Well, October brings a concentrated dose of planets in Libra, your opposite sign, stimulating and aggravating and testing you left and right.  In fact, Mars in Libra pairs up with the Libra Sun and they march forward together for almost the first three weeks of the month.  And Mercury is retrograde in Libra as well… But October begins with a pretty Venus-Jupiter angle so have fun with that and enjoy relationships.  The Sun-Mars pairing makes you very busy and thinking you have to do a million things while that pesky Mercury retrograde makes getting things done according to plan a bit difficult… The Libra new moon falls on the 6th, so go ahead, make some plans, set up work commitments, but draw on your Mercury retrograde intuition while you do it.  On the 9th Venus makes a nice angle to the Lunar Nodes, and you‘re awash in mushy feelings of connection.  But be careful—at the same time as the mushiness Mercury retrograde crosses over the Sun and Mars.  Uh-oh, this is a fractious combination, and you could put your foot in your mouth and blurt something out that causes some harm, just when you’re feeling all warm and fuzzy. Watch out for miscommunication for a few days.  Mercury finally turns direct on the 18th, along with Jupiter.  Saturn already turned direct on the 10th, so with these changes you will feel an easing, a release.  But – and you knew there would be a “but” —  also on the 18th Mars and the Sun make a potent angle to Pluto.  This is an intense combination that can be about a heavy-handed  expression of power, especially since we are approaching the Aries full moon on the 20th.  You will really feel the impact of this, so pay attention. Be aware that you may be throwing your weight around more than you realize.  However, Mars and Pluto are also a great combination for forcing your will and moving a situation that needs to be moved, so it is a good time to mobilize and get something done.  Just be aware of how you’re doing  it!  Then the Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd. Venus in Sag lines up with Neptune   for a few days on the 27th for some creative expression. The month ends with a sobering Sun-Saturn angle and you are feeling the weight of your responsibilities.

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20)  Ooh, lots of Libra energy in the sky, a sign that is not a natural fit for you, so you may feel a bit off kilter.  October does begin with a very nice Venus-Jupiter angle which is delightful for you, so enjoy the weekend!  It’s all about fun and connection.  But back to the Libra thing. Mars in Libra pairs up with the Libra Sun and they move in tandem for almost three weeks, and Mercury is retrograde in Libra. The Sun-Mars pairing brings a lot of activity and movement, a lot of work, a lot of busy-ness, yet Mercury retrograde makes it changeable and slippery at the same time so that you may feel, oh I need to be doing this and this and this but can’t quite do it.  Remember–Mercury  is retrograde, and  just go with the flow.  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th, so it is a good time to make plans and lay out your work commitments, but don’t sweat the details.  By the 9th things get interesting. Venus in Sag lines up with the Lunar Nodes for some delightful mushiness, but Mercury retro crosses the Sun and Mars. Uh-oh, that can bring major misunderstandings and miscommunication. People are thin-skinned and easily provoked. Avoid arguments!  Mercury turns direct on the 18th along with Jupiter—whew!  But also on the 18th the Sun and Mars make an angle to Pluto.  Global drama and personal drama, possibly in the form of power struggles.  Keep in mind though that Mars and Pluto also help move mountains. It is the community organizing and mobilization aspect, so go take care of some business. Just be aware that your force field is bigger than you realize. The Sun enters Scorpio, your opposite sign, on the 23rd.  You feel more like yourself.  Venus squares Neptune on the 27th, so engage your creativity.  October ends with a Sun Saturn aspect and you are feeling burdened with work.

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20)  The start of October brings Venus and Jupiter in a nice angle of  relationship connection, even if you are busier than you really want to be.  That busy-ness thing is intense this month, and there isn’t much you can do about it. Mars in Libra joins up with the Libra Sun for almost the first three weeks of the month, so that’s a lot of activity and demand, but Mercury retrograde throws a wrench in it and you can’t quite focus..  The Sun-Mars pair is  good for getting out there and hiking, running, or moving any way you can.  The Libra new moon is on the 6th, so use the active energy to plan and get work commitments figured  out.  Keep in mind, however, that Mercury is still very much retrograde, also in Libra, and so those plans may not exactly flow.  You have to flow, but the plans may not! On the 9th Venus in Sagittarius makes a pretty delicious angle to the Lunar Nodes, which is all about relationship connection.  At the same time Mercury retro crosses over Mars and the Sun. Uh-oh, that’s some fractious, edgy energy, and people are thin-skinned and ready to argue.  It’s not pretty.  Be careful of misunderstandings and miscommunications for a few days.  Mercury turns direct on the 18th, and Jupiter does as well. This brings a sense of forward movement and release. But also by the 18th Mars and the Sun make an angle to Pluto, just in time for the potentially bellicose Aries full moon on the 20th.  This is an intense combination, and there will likely be global tensions. On a personal level, there can be power struggles.  However, Mars and Pluto are a wonderful combination for focus and for organizing, so if there is something you need to do that requires  a major effort of will, now is the time.  The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd, and then Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune on the 27th for a few days of creative inspiration.  October ends with a Sun-Saturn lineup that brings heavy lifting in the work department.

CANCER  (JUNE 21- JULY 21)   There is a lot of action in Libra this month, and ooh are you edgy and a bit aggravated. The  Libra Sun is paired up with Mars for almost three weeks, and as they move in tandem, they spark a lot of energy and activity.  You want to be busy, or you feel like you should be,  Mercury is also retrograde in Libra, so the activities may not go the way you expect, and that busy-ness may not show up the way you think it will.  You really have to go with the flow of things – that is the essential way to work with Mercury retrograde.  October does begin with a pretty Venus-Jupiter angle, so use it for enjoying relationships and connections.  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th and so the Sun-Mars urge to action is very strong. Use this lunation to make plans, but don’t be attached.  By the 9th Venus and the Lunar Nodes make you all mushy but Mercury retro lines up with the Sun and Mars to make you thin-skinned and even more sensitive than your usual Cancerian state.   There are bound to be miscommunications and misunderstandings for a few days—so  just steer clear of argument and visualize peace.   Mercury turns direct on the 18th, and Jupiter does as well, bringing a sense of release.  Saturn turned direct on the 11th, getting the ball rolling and moving us out of the ultra-retrograde situation we’ve been in. You may feel a lot of romantic longing.   The month ends with The Scorpio Sun in an aspect to Saturn, and you will have a ton of work to do.  Set limits!

LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21)  Venus and Jupiter kick off October with a nice dose of fun and connection, so enjoy.  Mars in Libra spends almost three weeks this month paired up with the Libra Sun, and as they move forward in tandem, they bring you a lot of busy-ness and activity, but Mercury retrograde makes it hard to get things done at the same time.  All you can do is go with the flow!  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th with all this energy of action, action, action. You can make plans, but don’t be too attached. Just when you’re open emotionally, someone says something stupid or hurtful.  Be careful, and watch for miscommunications and misunderstandings. This planetary pile- up surfaces power struggles on the world stage and also personally. Mars and Pluto do bring a huge amount of focus and organizing energy.   If there is something you need to accomplish and mobilize others to do with you, this is a good time for that, but be aware of how much you’re throwing your weight around… The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd.  By the 27th, Venus in Sag makes an angle to Neptune, and you are yearning for something, for a way to transcend and connect with things bigger than your individual self.  Time to get back to meditation. October ends with a Sun Saturn aspect, bringing some pressure and hard work your way.

VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21)   October begins with a nice dose of fun and conviviality, thanks to Venus and Jupiter.  Mars in Libra joins up with the Libra Sun for nearly three weeks this month, and so you’re feeling compelled to do this and do that, even more than your Virgo usual.  This Sun-Mars pairing is about activity and being busy, but keep in mind that mercury retrograde, also in Libra, makes things also slippery and so it’s not so easy to get things done.  You have to go with the flow—that is essential for Mercury retrograde.  The Libra new moon falls on the 6th and it is a good time to get your ducks in a row, make your workflow organized—but don’t be too attached to outcome or timelines!  Things get a bit complicated on the 9th.  Venus in Sag lines up with the Lunar Nodes, which is all about mushiness and relationships. But—at the same time, Mercury retrograde passes over the Sun and Mars, a fractious combination that could lead to miscommunication and misunderstandings.  Watch your words and remember that the Venus aspects mean that everyone’s shields are down, including yours.  The potential for hurt feelings is pretty high!  Then Mercury turns direct on the 18th, as does Jupiter.  Yay.  But—yes, there’s another “but” – also on the 18th Mars and the Sun make an angle to Pluto, bringing global and personal pressure and drama.  The pressures often surface as power struggles, and we are in for a good 9 days of it, although most exaggerated around the bellicose Aries full moon on the 20th.   Sigh. Watch out for struggles, although keep in mind that mars and Pluto are very good for organizing and getting stuff done, for mobilizing will and effort.   The Sun enters Scorpio on the 23rd, and Venus makes an angle to Neptune on the 27 for a few days of creative expression.   The month ends with some Sun-Saturn restraint and undoubtedly a lot of work.
