VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21) I hope you enjoyed the delicious Virgo new moon on August 30th, because it is really setting you up for September. Get to work on those new ideas and projects! The planets this month bring you more Virgo energy with which to make those ideas manifest. September begins with a pileup of Virgo planets. The Sun moves in tandem with Mercury and Mars for the first week. Ooh you are a wee busy bee, full of ideas and plans. Venus in Virgo makes a quick angle to Jupiter and Neptune mid-week so definitely engage your creative muscles. Then things get even juicier for you on the 8th, when the Sun and Mars make a big set of
angles to Jupiter and Neptune while Mercury catches up to Venus. The Jupiter Neptune influence is big and sloppy, and amplifies everything it touches, which in this case is the force of your Virgo self. You have a lot going on, are juggling a lot, and are having 5 times the impact you can see or imagine. Things seem great one minute and then overwhelming the next. You can only ride the Jupiter Neptune waves and let them take you where they will, just be clear that you are not exactly in control. There is the potential for activities and plans to come to fruition this month and quickly give way to a whole new set of goals. Make sure you stop and smell the roses, as they say. The Mercury-Venus connection — in effect all the way til the 19th after both planets enter Libra – is wonderful for communication and self -expression. All this Virgo action is exaggerated on the Pisces full moon on the 14th— hold onto your hat! The full moon lines up quite closely with Neptune, so expect your emotional energy to be wildly big and sensitive. The week after the full moon the Virgo energy starts winding down as Mercury and Venus enter Libra. Then there is the fall equinox on the 23rd when the Sun enters Libra, while Mercury squares Saturn. Saturn is in an angle to the Lunar Nodes all month, so there are intimacy and relationship challenges all month which are highlighted for a few days on the 23rd. You are carrying responsibility in some relationships and it is weighing you down. You get serious about renegotiating your commitments a few days later when Venus squares Saturn and Mercury squares Pluto. Use the Libra new moon on the 28th to bring you clarity about boundaries, and then act on them when Venus squares Pluto the last couple of days of the month.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) September is a highly satisfying month, with enough earthy Virgo planets to make you a tornado of activity… The August 30 new moon in Virgo really set you up well for inspiration, and September’s Virgo planets help you deliver. The Sun and Mars move in step for the first two weeks of the month, while Mercury and Venus join up together as well for about 19 days, even after they both move into Libra. So the Virgo Sun and Mars conjunction helps you stay focused and busy, and Mercury and Venus enhance your communication mojo — thinking, speaking, writing. Go for it. Just keep in mind two things: Jupiter and Neptune
are back in their crazy angle all month and they line up with the Sun-Mars business the week of the 8th. Just be aware you may feel out of control and somewhat overwhelmed, even as things feel great great great. So much to do, so little time—like that. All you can do is rush forward with Jupiter and Neptune and allow then to push you in new directions if need be. The full moon in Pisces on the 14th really packs a Neptunian punch, so expect big feelings, big overwhelm, big things to be happening in your life. Mercury and Venus enter Libra on the 14th as we begin the slide towards the equinox when the Sun enters your own sign on the 23rd. The 23rd has Mercury squaring Saturn for a couple of days of crankiness and stress. Keep in mind that Saturn makes an angle to the lunar nodes all month, surfacing a certain amount of relationship stress. Are people there or not there for you? Are you carrying too much responsibility and is the commitment shared? The rest of September is focused on these issues, as Mercury and Venus line up with Saturn and Pluto in succession. It is a good time to renegotiate boundaries, especially on the new moon on the 28th which has strong Saturn-Venus influences.
SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) Wow, this month has a pigpile of planets in earthy Virgo, which complements your watery Scorpio self very nicely. Enjoy! Let’s hope you used the August 30th Virgo new moon to inspire new ideas and plans, and if so, this is a month of busy and sometimes overwhelming fulfillment. The Sun in Virgo marches in tandem with Mars for about two weeks, making you busy and active. Venus and Mercury are also moving forward in Virgo as team, enhancing communication and artistic expression. The first week of September is wonderful for getting some things done, especially things that bring some order and beauty to your life.
Remember that Virgo also has to do with self-care and healing, so it is a good time to set up healthful routines for yourself. Starting on the 8th the Sun and Mars make a big sept of angles to Jupiter and Neptune, exaggerating the get-things-done energy and bringing completion your way. It is also a time for fun and excess – you can’t really fight the expansiveness of the Jupiter Neptune influence, so let go, do something ridiculous. The full moon on the 14th comes with a strong Neptune influence, so expect feelings to be running high and to be somewhat out of control. The Fall equinox falls on the 23rd when the Sun enters Libra. Mercury squares Saturn for a few days, bringing some worry and stress, especially in connection with relationships. Remember that Saturn is in an angle to the Lunar Nodes all month, and you are feeling frustrated about people’s demands of you…. When do people show up for you, you wonder? Issues about an imbalance in giving and taking will be sparked during the last week of the month. Mercury and Venus move across Saturn and Pluto in succession so you may be cranky but also able to renegotiate boundaries and needs, helped by the Venus Saturn square on the Libra new moon on September 28th.
SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) Oh me oh my oh! September has the potential to be overwhelming—but you have an ace in the hole, as it were. That little lifeline came in the form of the Virgo new moon last week, which gave you all the tools you need to handle the level of activity you face this month…. The first half of September brings quite a lineup of Virgo planets, beginning with the Sun and Mars moving in tandem for the first two weeks, and Mercury and Venus pair up for even longer. Damn, you’re busy! Virgo is an
interesting sign for you, as the earthy mutable sign that rubs shoulders with your mutable Sagittarian self – sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s irritating. Sometimes Virgo’s attention to detail clashes with your disregard for them. In any case, this month all those Virgo planets give you the capacity to ground yourself in organized, productive way and get a whole lot done. If you don’t fight the earthiness, you will be able to be creative with it and even healthful. The added bonus is that your ruling planet Jupiter returns to its angle with Neptune, exaggerating everything and enhancing the expansive feeling in your already expansive life, leading to some overwhelm. See, you could use some of Virgo’s groundedness right about now! The second half of the month calms down a great deal, after the Pisces full moon on the 14th and after Mercury and Venus move from Virgo to Libra. The Sun enters Libra on the 23rd for the Fall equinox while Mercury squares Saturn for a few pesky days of mental tension. Keep in mind that Saturn makes an angle to the Lunar nodes all month, raising issues of boundaries which are really the focus for the last week of the month. Mercury and Venus move in angles to Saturn and Pluto in succession, so you will be able to restructure some relationships, especially on the new moon on the 28th.
CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) Some of the juiciness of August continues into September, I am glad to report. The beautiful Virgo new moon on August 30th really set you up nicely for creative effort and generating plans and projects. Yay! And it gets better: Sun
and Mars pair up together in Virgo for the first two weeks of September, while Mercury in Venus also move in tandem. This is a lot of earthy energy which should make for smooth sailing for you in terms of getting things done. In fact, there is also a beautiful influence of completion and fulfillment operating when the Sun and Mars catch up to the Jupiter Neptune angle by the week of September 8th. The only downside to this is a feeling of “too much-ness” – too much of everything!! Too much to do, too many things drawing your energy – and not enough time. Saturn, the arbiter of Time, is in Capricorn, after all! So you may feel a tad stressed, as Jupiter and Neptune pull you in too many directions. You have to go with where the energy is taking you, especially in the run-up to the Pisces full moon on the 14th. Things calm down after that, as we move towards the Libra energy of the equinox on the 23rd. Keep in mind that your ruling planet Saturn makes an angle to the Lunar Nodes all month, surfacing some tension in relationships, which becomes very evident after the equinox. You will struggle a bit with whether your needs are being met in relationships where you are carrying the emotional weight. Mercury and Venus in Libra make successive angle to Saturn and Pluto during the last week of the month, allowing you to set new boundaries and redefine commitments. Use the Libra new moon on the 28th to help you envision a new balance.
AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) Well, hmm, this is a slightly odd month for you, thanks to all the Virgo energy in the sky. Of all the signs of the zodiac, it is one of the most awkward for you. Where Aquarius is visionary, Virgo is grounded in the details. Virgo wants to integrate all the pieces and Aquarius wants to throw the pieces out of the window and find something new. You get my drift! So, here’s what to expect: The Sun and Mars in Virgo pair up together for the first two weeks of the month, bringing a lot of activity your
way. Mercury and Venus in Virgo are also linked up together for over half the month. You will be really busy with work, and it is a good time to focus on projects that are very grounded and earthy – and also creative. Renovate something, build something, engage in beautification. Take a class in native plants, or painting, or pottery. Develop a healthy diet and exercise regimen. And of course, you could always clean out your basement, but that is way too superficial a use of this deliciously creative energy! And — try not to overwork. Meanwhile there are some other influences in the sky this month. Jupiter in Sag returns to its quite exact angle to Neptune, adding to the feeling of instability and change and overall too-much-ness. All you can do is go with it. The energies start shifting after the Pisces full moon on the 14th, as we head towards the equinox on September 23rd when the Sun enters Libra. Mercury in Libra makes an angle to Saturn on the 23rd for a couple of days of mental tension. Then the rest of the month is dominated by Mercury and Venus making angles to Saturn and Pluto in succession, highlighting the relationship tensions that Saturn and the Lunar nodes are stirring up. You are struggling with some mistrust. Saturn and Pluto help you renegotiate expectations, needs and demands, especially around the new moon on the 28th.
PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) Ooh baby– so many planets in your opposite sign of Virgo this month !! So what are you going to do? And that is the very real question of September. In fact, it was set up by the August 30th Virgo new moon, which should have inspired many plans and creative projects. Here it is September, and the Sun and Mars in Virgo move in tandem for two weeks while Mercury
and Venus, also in Virgo, pair up for over half the month. There is a lot going on for you – lots to do, lots of people, places, projects, all slightly overwhelming and all very possible to do. And it is a great time to get things done, to work on beautification projects, to harness your creativity. Meanwhile Jupiter and Neptune get involved in the action the week of September 8th. Those two planets intensify, exaggerate, amplify everything. It is important to go with it — your capacity is greater than you think. Just let the waves take you where they want. It is just like riding waves in the ocean: exhilarating and beautiful and sometimes you get ground into the ocean floor. But it’s all good—you stand up, shake the sand out of your hair and dive back in! And things start settling down after the Pisces full moon on the 14th – yes, I said Pisces full moon, and with major Neptune action. You’ll be a mess. (Resistance is futile!) The planets start moving into Libra on the 14th and the Fall Equinox falls on the 23rd, when the Sun enters that sign. The last week of the month has everything to do with Saturn and Pluto and relationships – figuring out boundaries and the balance between giving and taking. You have some things to change and the Libra new moon on the 28th will help you redefine, restructure, recommit.
ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) Well, the Virgo dominance continues for a good part of September, confounding you a bit. Virgo is not the most comfortable sign for you, after all. Your fiery impulsiveness runs right up against the earthy carefulness of Virgo and it can feel like a giant power struggle since being controlling comes readily to both signs. So you may struggle a bit this month. The Sun and Mars are marching forward in tandem for two weeks, and Mercury and Venus also pair up together. That is a lot of Virgo!! It’s all
about being busy, getting stuff done, taking care of business – and also being calm, healthful, and creative. Your job is to slow down, appreciate the beauty of the details, but not obsess about them and get lost in the weeds. It will be important for you to stay as calm as possible and not let Virgo nerves get you. The first two weeks of the month are a great time to do a major creative beautification project. And by the week of September 8th the Sun and Mars catch up to the Jupiter -Neptune angle, so everything feels amplified and even overwhelming. Jupiter and Neptune are big and sloppy energies that magnify everything and add a certain uncertainty. You will need to work to stay calm, especially with the added pressure of the run-up to the Pisces full moon on the 14th. Then the energies start to shift. Mercury and Venus enter Libra on the 14th, and the 23rd brings the Fall equinox. Mercury in Libra squares Saturn for a couple of days, a good time for focused mental work. Keep in mind that Saturn makes an angle to the Lunar Nodes all month, triggering issues in relationships. These issues come to the fore during the last week of the month, when Mercury and Venus make angles to Saturn and Pluto in succession. It is a good time to work on trust and on finding a balance in giving and taking. Let the Libra new moon on September 28th help you renegotiate and recommit.
TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) September is quite a month, given how many planets are in Virgo! The stage was really set by the August 30th Virgo new moon, which was all about envisioning new plans for work, creativity, and self-care. Now get ready for action!! The Sun and Mars pair up in Virgo and move in tandem for two weeks, and Mercury and Venus are linked up for even longer. The Sun and Mars make you busy as a wee little Taurean bee, with lots to do and many people wanting even more from you. By the week of the 8th the Sun and Mars line up with the Jupiter-Neptune square, turning you from being merely busy into a whirlwind. Jupiter and Neptune
exaggerate and expand everything, so you can expect it to have a warp-speed effect on your life. You will be doing a lot and having a great deal of impact, perhaps feeling a bit out of control with the slippy-slidey effects of Jupiter and Neptune. There are likely to be changing circumstances, and you just have to go with it. Digging your Taurean hooves in won’t be effective! Although you are compatible enough with the earthiness of Virgo, remember that all the planets in Virgo plus Neptune and Jupiter fall in mutable signs, and that means transition and change. Things will feel especially big and uncertain in the run-up to the Pisces full moon on the 14th. Then it shifts; there is more Libra in the air. The Sun enters Libra on the Fall equinox on the 23rd, and Mercury in Libra makes an angle to Saturn for a couple of days of mental stress. The last week of the month surfaces Saturn issues and it’s time to get clear in relationships. Mercury and Venus make successive angles to Saturn and Pluto and the themes are building trust and renegotiating boundaries, helped by the new moon in Libra on the 28th.
GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) September is a stimulating and productive month for you, inspired by the August 30th new moon in Virgo which generated lots of ideas and crystallized some plans. September’s lineup will help you actualize them! The pigpile of Virgo planets is really quite delightful ! The Sun and Mars march together in tandem for two weeks, and Mercury and Venus even longer.
You are a busy little bee, doing a lot on the work front and also paying attention to your creativity. It’s time to attend to writing or music or painting or something. By the week of the 8th, the Sun and Mars lineup with the Jupiter-Neptune angle, and you are going in a million directions. Did I mention that you are busy? It’s all good, although there is a feeling of too-muchness, of too many things coming at you. Believe it or not, your capacity is big enough to handle it as long as it includes fun and creative expression, and as long as you can roll with the changes. Jupiter and Neptune do bring a certain unpredictability, but it’s fun, like jumping in the waves. The feeling of uncertainty builds up around the Pisces full moon on the 14th, and then after that the energies start shifting. Venus and Mercury move into Libra on the 14th, followed by the Sun on the 23rd for the Fall equinox. Mercury squares Saturn on the 23rd for a couple of days of mental stress (back up your hard drive!) but it passes quickly. The month ends with Mercury and Venus working with Saturn and Pluto successively to help you set boundaries and renegotiate some relationships. It’s time for tough love, especially around the September 28th new moon.
CANCER (JUNE 21- JULY 21) September brings quite a lineup of planets in earthy Virgo, which is very compatible with your watery Cancer self. The Sun and Mars move together in Virgo for the first two weeks, and Mercury and Venus are linked up for even longer. You are busy, busy, making plans and getting things done. Use the Virgo energy for beautification, for home improvement, and most importantly for creative projects. The Venus and Mercury combination emphasizes communication, music, writing. Get on it! Go on a writing retreat, take a class. By the second week of September the Sun and Mars catch up to the Jupiter Neptune angle, and the
energies get big and even overwhelming. Don’t be alarmed, you are supposed to be doing a lot and juggling a lot and handling even unexpected new projects. You have the capacity for it all. Jupiter and Neptune are big and sloppy and all the mutable energy in the sky makes things a bit unpredictable. Just go with it. It all will feel a bit out of control in the run up to the Pisces full moon on the 14th,. then the energies shift, as Venus and Mercury enter Libra, and you gain more perspective. The Sun enters Libra on the 23rd for the Fall Equinox, and Mercury in Libra squares Saturn for a few days of intense mental focus. The rest of the month emphasizes Saturn and Pluto, as Mercury and Venus move past them in succession, surfacing issues of trust and boundaries in relationships. It isa good time to assess needs and expectations and to make your feelings known, especially around the new moon on the 28th.
LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) September brings you a pileup of earthy Virgo planets, and you will feel some pressure to take action and get organized. Earth is about what we do every days, work and productivity, and care for our bodies and our homes, so use its satisfying concreteness. The Sun and Mars march in tandem for the first two weeks, so like it or not, you are incredibly busy. Venus and Mercury are also moving together in Virgo, inspiring you creatively. This is a good time for you to
dedicate yourself to creative practices, and although you’re doing a lot, it is all good. By the week of the 8th the Sun and Mars run into the Jupiter Neptune angle and you feel everything hit the fan. Suddenly you’re overwhelmed – there is too much of everything and you don’t know what to do. This is a time when you have to let the waves of activity just take you, even if you didn’t expect it and even is it feels like outrageously too much. Jupiter and Neptune are big and expansive and sloppy and excessive—go for it! Things will feel especially wild and big in the runup to the Pisces full moon on the 14th. After that the energies start to shift, as Mercury and Venus enter Libra. The Sun enters Libra on the 23rd for the Fall Equinox, and the rest of the month is dominated by Libran relational issues. Mercury and Venus make successive angles to Saturn and Pluto, and Saturn has been stirring the relationship pot anyway in its angle to the Lunar Nodes, raising issues of trust and connection. It is a time for renegotiating needs and commitments, helped by the new moon in Libra on the 28th.
