SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22- DEC 21) Wow, what a month ! It begins with Venus entering Sag on the 1st, followed by Mercury turning retrograde in the wee hours of the 3rd. Mercury is in the last degrees of Sag as it turns around, allowing it to stay in its conjunction to Saturn for another week. And, oh did I mention the Gemini full moon on the 3rd? But let’s get back to Mercury.
The Mercury-Saturn conjunction is all about hard mental work, focus, and communication – a kind of linear process at its height. With Mercury now retrograde there goes the linear part right out the window. From the 3rd to the 9th or 10th expect to be in Mercury retrograde heaven –or hell, depending on your perspective—when plans and dates and linear thinking all slosh around, driven by an inscrutable agenda. I insist that you go with the flow and expect that all kinds of details may not go as planned. The full moon on the 3rd is in Gemini, with the emphasis on communication. Okay, but the Sun and Moon make an exact square to Neptune on the 3rd. It’s dreamtime, honey—get used to it, especially if your birthday is the 3rd. You’ll get to draw on Neptunian and Merc-retrograde inspiration all year long. It’s powerful for creative work and spiritual disciplines as long as you work your practice, so no slouching! The first week of December also has Mars at the end of Libra opposing Uranus. You’re juggling many different demands and running around. Be careful not to get too stressed out – your temper is in a hair-trigger state . Be careful of that less than pleasant Sagittarian trait of not being able to tolerate those who don’t know as much as you do. Venus in Sag makes a quick square to Neptune on the 10th for a few days of yearning and romance. Then Mercury retrograde crosses the Sun on the 12th –- expect unexpected information and inspiration—and then it is conjunct Venus on the 15th and 16th which is wonderful for communication. Jupiter in Scorpio spends the second half of November squaring the North Node for juicy relationship connections. The Sag new moon falls on the 18th, ushering in major astrological and global socio-political shifts, including a Saturn-Jupiter angle on the earth axis. Then late on the 19th Saturn leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn for the first time in 29 years! You may feel a sense of accomplishment, because Saturn in Sag has pushed you to get yourself together over the past few years. The Sun also enters Capricorn on the 21st and so the Winter Solstice has some Sun-Saturn –Jupiter seriousness. Mercury comes out of retrograde on the 22nd in a square to Neptune. We will all be caught up with complicated world events that week… The holiday season is all about long-range planning.
CAPRICORN (Dec 21-Jan19) Oh baby! December begins with a certain hyped-up-ness because of the Gemini full moon on the 3rd. Keep in mind that Mercury goes retrograde also on the 3rd. It’s in the tail end of Sagittarius when it turns retrograde, and just to make it more intense, it is also conjunct Saturn. This particular Mercury retrograde will really test your mettle, especially til the 9th or so. Saturn’s influence will make the weirder, nonlinear parts of Mercury retrograde harder for you to tolerate. You can
really expect linear things to go haywire this month in classic Merc retrograde fashion. Keep track of your stuff and back up your hard drive! During that first week of December Mars opposes Uranus, contributing to a sense of tension and a feeling that you have to get a lot accomplished. You will have to take steps to chill out because with Mercury retrograde…. Well, you know what I mean. Around the 12th Mercury retro is conjunct the Sun and those few days will be meaningful in terms of inspiration and getting unexpected information. Jupiter in Scorpio spends the second half of November squaring the North Node which is quite wonderful for relationships of all kinds. The Sag new moon falls on the 18th, ushering in major astrological shifts that are of great import to your Capricornian self. Saturn, your ruling planet, enters Capricorn just before midnight on the 19th. This transit will take us into 2020, and you will feel it very personally, depending where in Capricorn your Sun falls. Saturn in Capricorn has to do with stability, groundedness, responsibility and purpose. If your birthday is at the start of Capricorn, near the solstice, you may feel it as pressure and a stretch of really hard work. But here is the thing – Jupiter is in an important angle to Saturn, and this powerful combination has to do with resources and long-term planning. The Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st (it’s the Winter Solstice!) when it crosses the earth axis. Our planet earth will be dealing with major events that week as all these forces line up, and you will be responding to global economic and political shifts. Mercury leaves its retrograde stretch on the 22nd, still in Sag and squaring Neptune. It will be a confusing week, I think. The last week of December is dominated by the influence of Saturn and Jupiter on the earth axis. It’s time to take stock of everything you have in your life.
AQUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 19) December is an interesting and slightly challenging month. It begins with a Gemini full moon (and supermoon, no less) on the 3rd along with Mercury turning retrograde. The Gemini full moon makes an angle to Neptune, which is great for inspiration and yet it shines a light on instability. Mercury has been conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius allowing you to be very focused and rational. When it turns retrograde it spends the next week once again conjunct Saturn but this round will feel very different. Mercury retrograde will be trying to be all non-linear and dreamy while Saturn attempts to organize it—not sure that will go so well. Get ready for plans and details to go haywire. You have to have to have to go with the flow. The Mars-
Uranus opposition in effect til the 9th may be stressful and make you less tolerant of Mercury –retrograde weirdness, making your temper short. On the 12th Mercury retrograde crosses paths with the Sun in Sag, and interesting and important information will be revealed. Jupiter in Scorpio squares the North Lunar node for the second half of the month, which facilitates juicy relationship connections. The 18th brings a Sagittarius new moon that ushers in some big astrological changes. Saturn leaves Sag and enters Capricorn on the 19th – it hasnt been in Capricorn for 29 years. The Solstice occurs on the 21st when the Sun enters Capricorn. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd. The Capricorn part of the month is kinda sobering; it’s about taking stock of things and valuing what you have. Saturn is in an important angle to Jupiter as the Sun and Saturn cross the earth axis. There will be some global situations that require us all to take a deep breath and do some long-term planning.
PISCES (FEB 20-MAR 19) Ah, take a deep breath. December is ….well, complicated. It begins with a dramatic Gemini full moon on December 3rd (a supermoon, no less) within hours of Mercury turning retrograde. The full moon’s effect is amplified by Neptune, your ruling planet, creating mushiness and inspiration. Mercury is in the last degrees of Sagittarius and has been conjunct Saturn for a week, all linear and rational and focused. Now with Mercury retrograde your mental energy is unfocused
but in a struggle with Saturn until the 9th. The Saturn conjunction brings out the worst in Mercury retrograde, so expect to be really annoyed by the breakdown in plans and technologies. You just have to go with it – seriously! The Mars-Uranus opposition also in effect til the 9th makes you extra edgy. Take a big chill pill, sweetheart. Mercury retrograde crosses paths with the Sun on the 12th for a couple of days, bringing important information to light. Jupiter in Scorpio spends the second half of the month in an angle to the North Lunar Node, which is great for relationships. The Sagittarius new moon on the 18th ushers in important planetary energies and global shifts in political and economic situations. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th for the first time in 29 years. This is a big deal because 0-degrees Capricorn is a trigger point on the earth axis. Jupiter is also lined up on the earth axis for the rest of the month. The Sun crosses this same point on the Winter Solstice, when the Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st. Huh?. Yup. Big changes. The end of December will be serious, but not all bad. You’ll be taking stock of resources, emotionally and practically. Mercury leaves its retrograde on December 22nd.
ARIES (MAR 20-APRIL19) Ooh, baby. December is a big month. It begins with a Gemini supermoon on the 3rd with strong enough Neptune aspects to knock you straight into another dimension. And if that weren’t enough, Mercury also turns retrograde on the 3rd . Mercury is in the last degrees of Sag and has been sitting in a conjunction with Saturn, brining you intense mental work for the past week. Now that Mercury is retrograde, it slides by Saturn again up til the 9th. This will be weird – Saturnian
mental structures will be in stark contrast to Mercury retrograde’s loosey-goosiness. Expect aggravation unless you can really go with the flow of it. If you can move with it, you will be unbelievably inspired and intuitively plugged in to the dreamtime. Keep an eye out especially on the 12th, when Mercury retro crosses paths with the Sun. You’ll learn important information. Jupiter in Scorpio is in a juicy aspect the North Lunar Node for the second half of the month, bringing delicious connection with loved ones. The Sagittarian new moon on the 18th is a last blast of Sagittarian inspiration, and it also ushers in a very different period for us all. Saturn leaves Sag on the 19th and enters Capricorn for the first time in 29 years. The Sun also enters Capricorn on the 21st, , the Winter Solstice. Jupiter is in a half-square to both, and all three are on the earth axis. What?! This will be an intense week, and an intense end of the year. There will be some major rearrangements of political and economic structures. Saturn and Jupiter will force you to sit with your sense of responsibility and make decisions and plans from that place. It’s a giant reality-check—sobering but necessary. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd.
TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) December will keep you on your toes. It starts with a bang, a Gemini supermoon on the 3rd, the same day that Mercury turns retrograde. Mercury is in the last degrees of Sag along with Saturn. The intense focus of the Mercury-Saturn conjunction changes with this retrograde influence. You must! you must! you must! go with the flow because otherwise you’ll be at cross-purposes with yourself. Just expect that plans and travel and arrangements will be floating in the
ether along with your keys, wallet, iPhone and other important things. Everything will show up eventually—it always does. Important information will be revealed in this stretch of Mercury retro—especially around the 12th when Mercury and the Sun join together for a couple of days. Mars and Uranus continue their opposition til about the 9th – beware of feeling overwhelmed and pulled in various directions. Jupiter in Scorpio lines up with the North Node for the second half of the month bringing nice dynamics in relationships. There is a Sagittarian new moon on the 18th, marking the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. The rest of December is very different, since Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th for the first time in 29 years. The Sun also enters Capricorn on the 21st, marking the Solstice. These two bodies feel kind of serious together, and they are arranged on the earth axis along with Jupiter. This signifies a major transition for our wee blue planet, and you will be reckoning with issues of responsibility and leadership in a world of changing economic and political conditions. It’s a big deal for everyone, and for you, it is all about decisions regarding emotional, practical, and financial sustainability. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd.
GEMINI (MAY 21-JUNE 20) Put on your seat belt! The month starts off with a Gemini full moon on the 3rd – a powerful supermoon, no less. It is lined up with Neptune so you don’t know which way is up – you just know you feel overwhelmed. With
good reason. And Mercury also turns retrograde on the 3rd. Your pesky ruling planet has been in a tense conjunction with Saturn in Sag for the past week and it won’t leave Saturn’s side til the 9th. This pits Mercury retro dreaminess with Saturnian structure and you may struggle with yourself, especially since the Mars Uranus opposition also makes you crabby. Try to go with the flow of Mercury retrograde and expect that plans and travel and arrangements will not stay as planned. Use Mercury retrograde for inspiration and for allowing ideas to bubble up from your unconscious. Things are reasonably calm mid- month, helped by the Jupiter –North Node square that puts the focus on relationships. The 18th brings a Sagittarian new moon, a last blast of Sag-ness before the intensity of the Winter Solstice settles in. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th for the first time in 29 years, marking a significant shift for the whole earth. Two days later the Sun enters Capricorn. This is a lot of action on the axis of the earth, and Jupiter is in the mix as well. It is a reckoning moment for society and for the globe. You’ll be grappling with issues of responsibility and sustainability on practical and emotional levels. Your pal Mercury turns direct on the 22nd. It’s a good time for long-range planning.
CANCER (JUNE 21- JULY 21) Well…. December is a tad complicated but not just for you. The month begins with a Gemini full moon on the 3rd, a powerful “supermoon,” no less with strong aspects to inspirational Neptune. And Mercury goes retrograde on the 3rd, in a close aspect to Saturn. The Saturn influence will try to constrain the loose and intuitive movement of Mercury til
the 9th, making for lots of Merc –retrograde-type aggravations — technology and plans and dates going haywire. Just roll with it! That’s all you can do anyway. It’s an interesting stretch of Mercury retrograde in any case that will bring some unexpected revelations around the 12th. The second half of the month has a pretty Jupiter-North Node influence that will emphasize relationships. The 18th brings a powerful Sagittarian new moon that ushers in a very different period for all of us. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th, for the first time in 29 years. As you know, It’s your opposite sign, so you will feel a shift, a need to be more grounded and solid in your life. The Sun also enters Capricorn on the 21st marking the Winter Solstice. The Sun-Saturn influence is kinda sobering, and it pulls in the influence of Jupiter as they all cross the earth axis, signifying a big set of changes for the globe economically, politically, and environmentally. It’s a good time for long-range planning and decision-making. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd, and you’ll be able to integrate the new learnings from Merc retrograde into your plans.
LEO (JUL 22-AUG 21) December will put you through your paces….First, it begins with a powerful “supermoon,” a Gemini full moon on the 3rd with strong and inspiring Neptune aspects. Mercury also goes retrograde on the 3rd, so things may be a bit unsettled. Mercury retrograde sits with Saturn until about the 9th, and Saturn and Merc retrograde are contradictory and will exaggerate the pesky tendencies of Mercury retrograde to mess with plans and technologies. But use the Mercury retrograde for
inspiration if you can stay reasonably chilled out about all nothing going as planned. This Mercury retrograde will reveal a lot of information, especially around the 12th when Mercury joins up with the Sun. Mid month Jupiter in Scorpio lines up with the North Lunar Node in Leo, placing the emphasis on relationships. There is a Sagittarian new moon on the 18th, the last blast of fire before life gets very earthy and Saturnian. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th for the first time in 29 years. The Sun crosses into Capricorn two days later on the Winter Solstice. This marks a major shift for the whole globe as the Sun, Saturn and Jupiter all move across the earth axis, a major trigger point for world events. It will be a sober holiday period, not all bad, but marked with some serious taking stock of our lives. It will be a good time for long-term planning, especially about financial and emotional sustainability. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd.
VIRGO (AUG 22- SEPT 21) December is a bit complicated for you… The month begins with a big Gemini full moon, a “supermoon,” in fact, pushing a lot of confusing information and ideas at you. And as if that weren’t enough, your ruling planet Mercury goes retrograde as well on the 3rd. Mercury retrograde is in the last degrees of Sagittarius sitting together with Saturn. Sheesh! Saturn tries to constrain the free-formedness of Mercury retrograde which will exacerbate the annoying breakdowns in communication and technology that we have come to expect. So get ready– you will have to work hard to go with the flow
certainly until the 9th when Mercury starts moving away from Saturn. Then its regular old Mercury retrograde, revealing some important information when it crosses paths with the Sun on the 12th for a couple of days. Things are calm mid-month, thanks to Jupiter squaring the North Node and putting the emphasis on relationships. The 18th brings us the last blast of fire with the Sagittarian new moon that ushers in Capricornian seriousness. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th for the first time in 29 years. This is a major transition for all of us on earth. Two days later on the Winter Solstice the Sun crosses into Capricorn, and Jupiter makes an angle to both bodies. This indicates a significant reckoning, a rearrangement of social and economic structures as well as an opportunity to really ground your Virgo self in responsible and right action. It will be a serious holiday season but positive for long-term planning and for taking stock of one’s emotional and practical resources. Mercury turns direct on the 22nd, and you will be able to apply the insights you gained during the retrograde period.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT21) Oh, honey! Big changes are afoot for you and the whole world. The month starts with a bang—a Gemini full moon on the 3rd along with Mercury retrograde the same day. The full moon has inspiring Neptune aspects but it also makes things feel unsettled. Mercury retrograde is in the last few degrees of Sagittarius and sits with Saturn until the 9th. This is a contradictory combination that is likely to exaggerate the irritating parts of Mercury retro, the plans going awry and your computer crashing. But you have no real choice but to go with the flow and let your unconscious do the work. Don’t sweat the
small stuff, the plans and dates and arrangements. Mid -month Jupiter aspects the North Node for juicy relationship delight. Then there is a Sagittarian new moon on the 18th, the last blast of fire before everything gets all earthy. On the 19th Saturn enters Capricorn for the first time in 29 years, followed by the Sun entering Capricorn on the 21st and marking the Winter Solstice. Jupiter makes an angle to both Saturn and the Sun as they all cross the earth axis. This transit is very important for all of us on earth and especially for you as a Cardinal sign. It brings a kind of sitting up straight and having to face reality, assess our resources on all levels, and accept responsibility for the world we live in. The holidays will be sober but important and grounding, as we all take stock of our world. Mercury turns around on the 22nd, and you will have an opportunity to use what your unconscious showed you during the retrograde.
SCORPIO (OCT 22-NOV 21) December is just plain weird! It begins with a Gemini full moon on the 3rd which has inspiring Neptune aspects but leaves you feeling unsettled. Meanwhile Mercury goes retrograde also on the 3rd . Oh jeez! It begins its retrograde stint sitting with Saturn at the end of Sagittarius. This combination brings out the worst in Mercury retrograde until December 9th in terms of plans and travel and dates getting messed with. All you can do is go with it because there is nothing else
to be done. And otherwise this Mercury retrograde is rich for your intuition and unconscious inspiration, especially around the 12th when Mercury crosses paths with the Sun. The middle of the month is quite calm, and Jupiter in Scorpio squares the North Lunar Node, bringing juicy relationship connections for the second half of December. There is a Sagittarian new moon on the 18th, the last blast of fire before things get very earthy. Saturn enters Capricorn on the 19th, the first time in 29 years. Two days later the Sun enters Capricorn on the Winter Solstice. There is no doubt that the Sun and Saturn, sitting together on the earth axis, is a big deal for everyone and for our wee blue planet. Jupiter also gets involved in the dynamics with an angle to the Sun and Saturn. This signifies a major reorientation for all of us politically and economically. It is not a bad influence but it is a serious one and we will spend the holidays assessing where we are in our lives and how to share responsibility for our planet. Mercury turns around on December 22nd, and the insights you gained during the retrograde will help you make some long-range plans.
